In the times, where I remember Jungle was Intelligent Drum and Bass, and the Subwoofer was the most underestimated speaker in the music group, I long to find harmony as such, with the substances that occur around me. I think that you're not looking at much of the west coast at all. California is freaking amazing my friend. If you want to stay away from the high cost of living then you simply choose to not live in one of those areas.
Sure we have a lot of plastic people, but we also have an abundance of cool friendly out going well educated individuals as well.
As for the "ghettos" it doesn't matter if they're famous fact of the matter is that the rest of the country has just as many poverty problems as us. Simply because a town or location is mentioned in a song does not mean that it is the worst place in the whole world or that its all gone to shit only in that area.

You're overlooking all the amazing beautiful things about California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Like the mountains, oceans, national parks etc.
The east coast is beautiful too. I dont think we should be knocking any portion of the country and saying one is better than the other.
