This is just fukkin wild 8o

you aware of the Chinese Poets Li Bai & Du Fu?
"He was quite a drunkard... and writing some of his best poetry apparently, while completely inebriated. You know, he's wild and associated with a kind of unbridled revelry, and yeah that's part of why I love him," says Kuo.
He is talking about Li Bai, a poet born in Central Asia, who became a wandering superstar poet in China, known as "the fallen immortal" or "the immortal of wine".

A Woman Of Quality

Matchless in breeding and beauty,
a fine lady has taken refuge
in this forsaken valley.
She is of good family, she says,
but her fortune has withered away;
now she lives as the grass and trees.
When the heartlands fell to the rebels
her brothers were put to death;
birth and position availed nothing--
she was not even allowed
to bring home their bones for burial.
The world turns quickly against
those who have had their day--
fortune is a lamp-flame
flickering in the wind.
Her husband is a fickle fellow
who has a lovely new woman.
Even the vetch-tree is more constant,
folding its leaves every dusk,
and mandarin ducks
always sleep with their mates.
But he has eyes only
for his new woman's smile,
and his ears are deaf
to his first wife's weeping.
High in the mountains
spring water is clear as truth,
but when it reaches the lowlands
it is muddied with rumor.
Her serving-maid returns
from selling her pearls;
she drags a creeper over
to cover holes in the roof.
The flowers the lady picks
are not for her hair,
and the handfuls of cypress
are a bitter stay against hunger.
Her pretty blue sleeves
are too thin for the cold;
as evening falls
she leans on the tall bamboo.

I thought this was informative tbh

There's other videos describing how the USA have very methodically and effectively dismantled Iran over the last few weeks. Starting with taking out their key military leadership figures on day 1, and then progressing ever onwards, so that Iran pretty much has very little left by now, in terms of any military threats.

Apparently the USA doesn't actually want to destroy Iran's energy producing infrastructure, that is too useful and valuable for the entire global economy. At least Trump seems to have listened to his advisors on that point.

But they just want to destroy practically everything else. All in the name of changing the regime apparently. Trump just didn't like the regime.

Unfortunately Israel seems to have become completely out of control, and they've now started destroying Iran's energy infrastructure too. This could potentially have serious and long term effects.

It's absolutely crazy how the USA and Israel can do something like this, with seemingly very little to no justification or provocation.. Imagine if Russia was to do anything similar.

Russia has done and continues to do things that are on a par. They've infiltrated pretty much every Western government. Ireland has at least one agent that everybody knows about. How many do we have?

The Iranian government has nothing to do with this century. Constantly murdering people, Won't miss them if the regime does change.

But Trump's methods pile on the pain for civilians. That's unforgivable. We can only hope that this shit concludes pretty sharpish.

I generally dislike this channel as it tends to go overboard on the scaremongering and sensationalism, (it's just as bad, or even worse than the MSM - including the likes of the BBC news and the tabloids, particularly the Daily Mail,) but here it does raise the subject of the hypocrisy of the government, in warning the petrol companies against price gouging, at all levels in the supply chain, when you consider that 55% of the price of petrol is made up of fuel duty and VAT.

Yes the petrol industry from the forecourts to the distributors to the producers have all been guilty of profiteering during times of price rises, such as now.

I initially metaphorically applauded the government for issuing this warning, it does need to be heeded, but at the same time they are taking a far bigger slice of the pie than all other parts of the supply chain combined.

It's also ridiculous and pathetic that the cashiers in petrol stations are subject to lots of abuse at times like this. As if they are the ones responsible for setting the global wholesale price, or the distribution costs, or even the price the actual petrol station charges. The video mentioned that drivers behavior has already changed, with queues forming at some petrol stations, and petrol sales up by 40% since before the crisis in Iran, and people also topping up with extra jerry cans etc.

There was talk of potential rationing if the crisis continues or worsens. The scaremongering again.

If that were to happen, I can't see how it would work in practice. For example, say if a £30 limit gets introduced, firstly the garages will probably need security to deal with customers kicking off about that, and secondly what is to stop drivers from going from one garage to another, to get all the fuel they want or feel they need, if rationing is introduced.

Yeah it's so obvious that a young but smart child could have thought of that.

Unless they introduce some kind of electronic real time update system that gets updated every time a certain car registration gets re-fuelled. But that kind of thing would take time to set up, and would cost billions to roll out, so realistically I just can't see that happening.

So, I'd have to call 'bullshit' on any scaremongering notions of fuel rationing.

The petrol stations will either have fuel or they won't, and I don't think that trying to impose any restrictions will work.

Edit: Although I have just remembered 'ration books' from around the time of WWII. I don't know exactly how they worked, but I could look it up, and it shows that I was wrong about an electronic system being necessary.

There not responsible for the price of fuel but they must have some influence on how much they charge for food .
Some garages sell home essentials like pet food ,bog roll and beer of course
You would have to be mad to even consider buying from them ,even in an emergency
Thinking beer rather than bog roll 🤣

Yeah the manager of the station will set the prices of everything, unless it's part of a big national chain, but it won't be the cashiers setting the prices of anything though, except maybe any food reaching it's 'sell by' date.

So it's unfair and not even rational or logical for them to get all of the abuse.

100% agree with you.

Some guy on BBC Radio 4 last night said something that made my ears sit up & take notice.
The huge ships that carry the Crude Oil that's turned to Petrol are run & Owned by huge companies, these Petrol Cartels got told a day or two before Trump & Netanyahu took action against Iran & because the last time Iran was hit they closed down The Strait of Hormuz they were 99.9999% sure it would happen again & they were sure the cost of Oil & Petrol etc will go through the roof they filled up the ships to the very limit & any ship they could get their hands on was filled up to the max also, they would have paid around £50-£60 per barrel of Oil & now they are being sold Whole Sale on the open market at £118-£120.
At PM Questions on Wednesday a few people asked about price fixing by these Oil Cartels & their sneaky ways were raised, Starmer said he will do something to stop them ripping people off BUT how he will do this is beyond me.

I am all for Free Market economics BUT when people begin to take the piss I get upset, the problem is we don't have real capitalism as so many companies get bailed out by The Tax Payer when under a real system of free trade etc nobody gets bailed out by tax money & also their would be way more than a very small few groups selling petrol & oil.

I watched this a few days ago, just after she was voted in, but I forgot to post it on here :roll eyes: .

In all honesty I have to say that personally I think this is the best speech that I have heard from any politician, in a very long time.

I was genuinely impressed and moved by her words and delivery, and trust that she will go on to do as good a job in her new role, as she made of her maiden speech in the House of Commons.

There are none of the usual empty and meaningless bullshit political / corporate buzzwords. And the whole thing just rings out loud and clear as to just how genuine and heartfelt she is in what she says.

@LoginNotSecure you may well laugh at the content of my post/ Hannah Spencer/ The Green party.

I don't really care.

Today's politicians are mostly such a bunch of wet non-entities, that I genuinely cannot remember a good speech since the days of political heavyweights such as Michael Heseltine, Ken Clarke, Tony Benn, and John Prescott (and OK maybe Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn too, although I know the latter 2 are far more divisive.)

In terms of people that were genuine and sincere, (excluding the proven liar, Boris, from that), and were gifted at public speaking, regardless of whether they were left or right.

Of course I'm not putting Hannah Spencer in the same league as those kind of figures, but I guess it hits differently when things like this happen in seats that are very close to home, and good people get elected. Her speech connected.

Just as importantly, perhaps more importantly, it sent Keir Stalin the message he so thoroughly deserved, and this has also prevented the seat from going to Reform, who are now starting to look like a party on the decline. For other reasons apart from, and in addition to this, and according to many more recent polls.

Have NO FEAR as Charley is on the case.
The same guy who makes his living by pissing off Crack addicts in Manchester & for years was so deep into the 9/11 WTC Towers falling down.

She's appeasing to the (not so minority) vote, she also says you shouldn't drive a car, yet has a couple herself, including a diesel, she's also against owning more than one home, yet she has a couple she rents out. Do as I say, not as I do mentality.

Here she is in a car - Said car has illegal plates, driver using their phone, no hands on steering wheel, nobody wearing seatbelts. Reported to the Police by multiple people, nothing done about it.

On top of the fact she thinks men can be women and women can be men madness. They can play pretend, sure.

When the day of the rope finally happens, I'd like a front row seat.

Politics is always amusing, certainly illuminates the low IQ amongst a crowd.

As you were!
