Haha innit. Tried that for the first time the other night cos girlthing's family is from mystical lands far far away, was bloody lovely. I love being with someone that can cook, even though she mocks what she calls 'Yorkshire food'.

On the one hand, I love spam fritters. On the other hand, when someone who's vegetarian but still cooks meat says a form of meat is gross, then...
 
I just had a Corner yoghurt too. Was After Eight flavour. Thought it'd taste like Listerine so have been avoiding it but was actually really quite nice. Apparently it contained 'biscuit pearls', which made me giggle.
 
For dins today I just din dun munched chicken, (lots of) courgette (cos were reduced at end of day) and flageolet bean curry. Wiv hot buttered garlic and herb tortillas on the side pretending to be chapatis. Only acquired the latter cos was half price. Nice enough but will stick to making me own chapatis in future, methinks, cos I make lushy ones (although is kinda hard not to given there's really nothing you can do to screw 'em up). Curry itself was no particular type of curry, just whatever spices I fancied really. Lotsa paprika. Am lovin' having a proper range of spices to cook with since MamaSham let me loose on her bulk spices. Just need to find a way to keep 'em topped up without breaking the bank. Guess I'll have to look online cos am I fuck paying sillymoney for those lil jars of Sharwood's ones. Prices of that stuff is just nuts 8o

I've known a few people who worked for a big chicken slaughterhouse that did (in) the chooks for KFC (and other fast food places) and yer bogstandard cheap chicken stuffs. Could tell you stories that'd make yer toes curl. Fukkin disgusting what goes on in those places. Yes there are regulations, no they are not even remotely adhered to much of the time. One of the regular, nightly ways to pass the time was playing football with live chickens. Very few people I know who got sent there via the temping agency stuck more than a single night. Several walked out within a coupla hours in disgust. Some fukked up people in the world. And I guess a slaughterhouse for lowest common denominator chicken products is a likely place to find 'em :\

^ I've not and hadn't heard of it. Just had a lil looksee and looks quite interesting so may just acquire that to watch next time I'm indulging in cheap chicken. I wish my revulsion at the way animals are treated to put cheap meat products on the shelves outweighed my fondness for flesh (mmm... scrummy, yummy flesh <3). So far it hasn't though so I guess it never will now cos I can't really imagine food production could get much worse than it is already. I don't know if this makes me morally bankrupt or not. But I do know that I like eating meat and would barely be able to eat it at all if I only bought "good" meat. I know that would probably be the "right" thing to do. I don't do it though. But I do make a point of being aware of how things get from wherever they start out until whenever they get nommed by me.

Quite. Was the kinda place where you either have to keep your head down and turn a blind eye or join in with the fukkery. I just refused to work there cos I've never heard a good word about the place. Sounds like a hellhole for workers and chooks alike.
