EADD What Are You Munching On? v. Godlike steaks & shitting candles.

That's exactly what I'm making thenight but not with tuna but (smoked) salmon, and some broccoli, and it will not be cold. (Eh, close enough:D)

Well we both had pasta :D I couldn't be bothered to make anything so I went with what was in the fridge, pasta was from the other night, salsa verde from last night can of tuna and was a great quick meal.

Thai curry with spicy carrot salad for Dinner

Buttermilk fried chicken in a bap with coleslaw and hotsauce from the stand round the corner. It killed - crunchy as mate, crunchy as.

I've gone for a Bear inspired tuna pasta bake tonight from a Nigela hangover recipe 8). It can be het up later when appetites return.

About 2am or so last night I got up and started making pancakes (Scottish pancakes) on my grannies girdle :D, they were delish in bed, all fresh and warm with butter post naughty!

Easting a reheated roast dinner. Then I will pick up where I left off, by heating some drugs.

I will inevitably drink the buckfast that GL left.

Least you're eating, that's something. If I was your mammy I'd be worried off my wee heid 8(

Does anyone else in EADD use wooden spoons?

This I pondered today as I made a sauce with a wooden spoon...is it a Scottish thing or an old woman thing?

I use a wooden spoon when making bread. Ms SHM also has a horrible plastic/rubber type spoon, which is bright yellow and revolting all round which I won't touch but she swears by because it has flexibility.

I think I've probably taken this question too seriously.

What do you mean you use a spoon to make bread? 8( I use my hands.

Aye, I know of the silicone stuff, some of it is good, like scrapers - others shite like baking tins, that are not tins :\. Do not do silicone bakeware kids, its poisonous :|

It just flumoxed me that wooden spoons of various shapes and types are really cheap and easy to procure in Scotland, so we must have a market demand - do we? Or are they a UK wide thing?...not like I want to mix culture, politics n' foodism n' the like, but I'm sure you'll know what I mean..

If I'm making bread from a bread mix (this is not the only way I make bread, ask Ceres) I use a wooden spoon to first mix the, er, mix with water BEFORE kneading with my hands.

I've never worn a pinny in my life.

I bought 2 kilos of cherries...

Baking seems a bit beyond me at the moment, I'm coeliac so that makes it harder. I should bake, but I can only maybe manage decent cakes, given up on ever having decent wheat free bread.

I'm just putting all my effort into not being sick from eating too many cherries too quickly now...

What about Socca bread (flat breads) just look up Chick Pea floor as this should be suitable for you?

When I'm making bread I just use my hands, tip the dry ingredients onto the bench - make a well in the middle add wet ingredients and stir. TBH doesn't make that much difference if you mix in a bowl with a spoon (just makes more dishes). One tip - when you have measured out your flour, take one tablespoon out and use that for dusting the bench etc (keeps the ratios right).

I might make a loaf for tonight - I tend to stick with Focaccia mix then just change the shape, flavors depending on what I'm eating it with :)

SHM - had a great night at the Sri Lankan place (skipped the buffet night) was really impressed, had a prawn curry, deviled king fish steaks, couple of Sambals (one chili, one roast onions), Roti, and they gave us a few hoppers to try.

Nice one Bear, hope the prawn pic I put up here inspired some of that. Yeah, very hot and spicy from what I remember of it (SL food in general). Bloody loved Sri Lanka for loads of reasons.

What was funny - we ordered chicken curry and deviled prawns :D. The food was pretty spicy and I can't wait to go back.

This morning I had Shakshuka (eggs in a spicy tomato sauce).

These dishes are intriguing me, I must get a Sri Lankan cook book from the library.

I have really messed up my menu plan this month and have a roast beef dinner on the go 8( madness, yes 8) I know! The sun is beaming - still x
