Thai food is great and I eat loads of it - the dumplings were nice and as I had both prawns and wrappers in the freezer didn't take that long to put together. I made a spicy peanut sauce (peanut butter mixed with fish sauce, garlic, chili, and a little bit of coconut milk) which I had over the curry which gave the curry a really rich texture.

Tonight was spinach, feta and tomato Omelette :) (cooked in the microwave so it looks a bit anemic -tasted great though.)

had nothing in the fridge so

Green bean curry, with flat breads and aubergine fritters :).

Foooking henry, bear_love... you're some amazing cook. I'm salivating as I type.

You aren't looking for a new boyfriend by any chance, are you?

Haha knowing how much you cried after sticking a bit of grass up your ass..... then ... No :)

I love fish finger sarnies - made a post about eating them once and got told to fuck off :D

Food of the gods so they are <3

In omelette news, I actually do do omelettes but only if very well flavoured - to the point you can't taste egg. A properly cheesy cheese (ideally wiv ham) omelette is a fine thing. Tortilla-type omelettes are also doable with same rules applying. It's the taste of egg I can't stomach. I have even been known to cope with scrambled egg if heavily-flavoured too but is a stretch cos the texture has to be bang on to not be too reminiscent of vomit.

Bwaaaahahahahahhahahahahhaa! =D

Oh, and currently munching 'pon smoky bacon tiger nuts. Somewhat disappointed at lack of tiger involved but quite tasty all the same.

Anyone tried that new savoury popcorn that's popping up seemingly everywhere? The salt and cinnamon one has me intrigued. Thoughts?

I don't do pre-popped popcorn cos it tastes like cardboard. Savoury popcorn is nice though. A decent curry powder is a good popcorn-tossing material. So is a vegetable stock cube actually (depending on brand - can't recall which one I liked but was some wholefood one). I tend to make fudge sauce to go with popcorn. Yum <3

My oven has been broken for 2 weeks now..bastard trades person now allegedly has the elusive parts..I await his phonecall. Meanwhile if it's stir fry-able and takes a nano second I have been eating that..and mostly vile cardboard whey chocolate protein bars..because I am that lazy.

I have said it before and I will say it again...Bear I wanna come for tea. drooooooooolllllllllll

I have a popcorn machine - it hates me though (It really does) so I leave the fucker in the cupboard. Gutted as I like popcorn :D

beans, toast, omelette (Parsley and chili) and tomatoes :).

Fresh coffee (resisting the urge for a cold can of Amstel)

(Because we like spicy food/strong flavor foods - I add Fajita seasoning to the beans).

Pretty similar photo to the last one :( -

Green bean curry, Roast Chick peas, Butternut Squash fritters and some home made flat breads, was gorgeous!

Oh do fuck off. :)

Yeah, recipes might be nice, if tedious for you to post, unless you can do copy/pasta (see what I did there?) from t'internet.

I swear down - I was thinking about that post as I was standing in the kitchen four pans going, squash baking in the oven and a bowl of dough for breads waiting for me . Pasta the point of no return by then :D

Recently munched 'Mediterranean Chicken' (consisting of chicken breast wiv peppers, olives, capers, a big blob of pesto I added cos I could, peccorino and some kinda cheese that had added white wine and herbs I didn't realise I had) with pesto linguine. Was very tasty. Apparently I've never had linguine before cos for some reason I thought it was that hollow spaghetti which I'm rather partial to so was mildly disappointed to discover it's just spaghetti squashed flat. Still nice enough with (fairly swanky albeit still but a shop-bought jar) of green pesto though. I'd say it was bordering on healthy but there was a fair amount of olive oil and assorted cheeses involved so not really. Tasty > healthy all the way.

That sounds lovely - I'm a fan of Pesto and usually have a few jars of the stuff kicking about. I like to spread it on toasted bread and then use that for a cheese or tuna sandwich :) - Im currently emptying my freezer and found a bag of calamari (bought it to feed the eels I got, they however preferred to eat my other fish so went back :D).

Fried bacon sandwich. Fucking yum. Tastes even more so than usual, possibly because ive barely eaten anything except kratom yoghurts for a couple of days.

Gonna be doing my cheap and nutrituos dish which i dont particulalry enjoy this evening, but some healthy food is called for. And havent really got anything else in. So its a sort of tuna, red onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes, tomato puré all reduced down and mixed with pasta.

Made some couscous with ratatouille the other night. By tweaking the dish slighly, briefly frying some salt, pepper and garlic in olive oil first just to let the flavours out into the oil, then adding the couscous to that to soak up the flavourings, then adding some hot water, and then the Rat and fresh toms, letting the couscous absorb its juices and some fresh parmesan cheese mixed in. It was the nicest and most simple and fairly healthy meal ive had for ages, so easy to eat, i wolfed a huge panfull. Total cost = £1 or so. Some fresh basil would have topped off both dishes, but i cant be arsed with Sunday supermarkets. Definately gonna be stocking up on more couscous and Rat, such a handy very quick and tasty meal.

Should stop being such a lazy fucker, and get together some salad ingredients. I can make a pretty nice salad, it goes with practically everything, and is obviously very good for you. Its literally years since i last bothered.

MDB - Parmesan with couscous ? Use a few olives instead - way cheaper.

Chill it, add your toms when cold. Squirt of lemon .

I found that the Parmesan went well with it, but tbf i find that parmesan goes well with nearly all pasta/couscous type things. I guess i could try olives and a squirt of lemon next time though, and adding the toms when cold. The Parmesan is about £3 for a big chunk that lasts me weeks.

I like it hot, (said the actress to the bishop,) but you are right that it is often a dish best served cold from what i have seen. I'll try it 'your way' but i didnt half enjoy it 'my way' too.

Anyone ever eaten UK snails ? I dont mean in a Bear Grylls way, but prepared and cooked appropriately they are meant to be a delicacy ? At least the French seem to think so. :?

My back yard gets innundated with them, i dont like to poison them with poison pellets, the trail of green slime they leave in their wake is truly disgusting. Instead i chuck them as far away as possible, so they probably end up in someone elses back yard or in the back alleys, probably with their shells cracked so that the Magpies will be able to get at them. I'd just let the snails be if they left my edibles alone but they devour everything in sight if left unchecked.

There's quite a few around right now. I'll just settle for lobbing them as far away as possible for the moment, when it stops raining, and have a bacon sandwich instead, with no optional snail auderves today.
