You'd make a good personal trainer evey, and yeah all the added sugar and crap added to that stuff is no good. i used to be very into fitness, cardio and body weight training mainly, these days i just concentrate on diet and hydration etc. cardio now and again. my diet wasnt that good back then although i was pretty heavy on the protein. i shoulda paid much more attention to veg, salad, fruit, etc
Got to this through 2008-2010 and half of 2011

Couple people i know used to be proper into lifting in the gym, heavy weights, but they paid no attention to diet... said that protein didnt matter that much.. what a load of bollocks. i told em that as well. few other people i know used to go to the gym then stuff their face with rubbish when they got home. so stupid

Took some serious effort to get bulky and was ripped for awhile, training ontop of stim comedowns was an absolute bastard to say the least. doubt i'd be able to do it now. all the booze did no favors as well

Wow looking good Dan! ;) yeah they say weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% diet so I'm sure building muscle is much the same. Refined carbs are the enemy either way!

Thanku ;p no longer in that shape anymore sadly. i'd agree weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% diet, building muscle though i'd say 50/50

Crispy shredded beef and egg fried rice. It was from one of these all natural, no added MSG, 'healthy' places - inevitably it was not as good. Crispy, my arse! Scarlet food coloured, insanely sweet sauce, my arse!

Still fairly tasty though.

Yeah that'd make more sense!

I'm pretty happy with my progress, haven't lost a whole lot (probably because I didn't really need to in the first place) but I do feel much healthier since I took up exercise and minimised my carb intake. If I were still using smack I'd probably be living off haribos =D

Cheers haha, no longer in that shape anymore tho. but am proud to have gotten to that stage ontop of comedowns, drinking shite loads of booze and a fairly crap diet. used to take alot of supplements, was naieve... theyre bollocks compared to a decent diet. i'd agree weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% diet, building muscle though i'd say 50/50

I know how you feel, Dan. I've been there... All toned n thus but, without saying much on this site, I found out more stuff about my ex, and it almost destroyed me stress-wise.... I continued exercising to escape it all but had a slip disc which became agonising... Then giving codeine, which first day (took two 30/500) reminded me of the diamorphine I'd had during labour, I was psychologically hooked from that day - I don't give a damn which anyone says...

Thinking I was superhero, I continued doing Insanity (even have the T-Shirt), P90X, running etc and tried to balanced both world... Which, to be honest, is why I should not have been too harsh on Raas when he took his Heroin, as he's admitted to the forum (so I'm not betraying trust here) he's a lot going on... I should have tried to be a bit more understand of his situation instead of judging him...

Where was I? in some ways, I think this is my karma.... for years after having my little one, I'd sit along seeing all my friends on FB going out and I'd think all these bitter thouhts like "well they'll get liver damage from alcohol poisoning while I'll be all nice and fit," so I think this may be my punishment for those nasty thoughts...

Sorry I've gone on again, but seriously Dan, if you ever want that again, you can get it.... I am trying everything I can to get back to that life but the cravings for drink and suboxone are absolutely phenomenal and I'm not sure how to supass them and become the person I once was (hang on, I think I've contradicted myself!)

I seen your pic and I had a lot of admiration for you (I would say that without drink) I know how long it takes, my brother has taken absolutely YEARS to get into shape,,, he trains six days a weeks (though he's a bloody stubborn person - I tell him how to work his core with the breathing etc and he's like "I know how to work my core!" yet he's a LOT of back problems, so he clearly doesn't - but my brother is stubborn LOL)...

Good on you for quitting the smack :) yea too many carbs are pretty bad

Thanks Evey, great advice! I've heard about that high intensity interval training but never too sure about how effective it was. It does seem to make some sense though looking at the theory behind it.

High intensity is very effective

HIIT is one of the best.... but you need to know how they work.... right, bear in mind I've had a drink here and may have a forgot a bit, so I urge you to also Google.... normal cardiovascular exercise (aerobic) burns "fat" calories whilst INTENSE exercise (anaerobic) burns carbohydrate calories... With intensive exercise you tend to use a lot of lactic acid, that's why you can't perform it for too long... you need proper Oxygen into your muscle... and that's why you need to breathe a certain way during exercise eg running - in through nose out through mouth.... It all helps, but standing a specific way, holding in your stomach (abs), shoulders back and general poster also helps to strengthen your core, which despite what people think, is not just the stomach but also the back muscles and hips, the general middle which helps with balance and other stuff as well as balance helping core...

EDIT: Like I said take anything I say with a pinch of salt, I've had quite a few JDs :D xxxx

Evey

PS: I've a few celeb trainers on my FB but I don't know if I'm allowed to mention them here encase I'm done for advertising... MODS: Am I allowed to mention them????

of course, now we're going down the philosophical road hahahaha "what do you define at tasting hot," what does tasting hot means? And does this differ from person to person? If so, why?

The Wolverhampton Uni philosophy department has been dealing with that quandary for years.
