It looks like one of your pecs weighs as much as my entire lower body.

Mr England you have a lovely, friendly face - if I was in need I'd be so happy to see you. Really can't comment on your well toned, strong and rather sexy muscles as my hubby is reading 8)

Oops :o *honestly I wasn't ogling*

Ceres I so have :p

Josh your eyes are like saucers there mate...what were you on?

You do look a bit on the thin side mate. If you wanted you could get your doc to prescribe bulk up drinks?

Totally up to you as everyone's body is their own property and everyone should have the freedom to be as think/fat/muscular/whatever-the-fuck-they-want!!!!

Yeah I'm prescribed Vital 1.5kcal, 900kcal a day. Before that I was on Fresubin 2kcal, 800kcal a day. They both go right through me though, just like everything else thanks to the ulceration of my rectum, and colon, when I still had one. :(

Believe it or not, just over two years ago I was 12st 11 (mostly thanks to having been living in Germany on a diet of bier and bratwurst ja!). Now I'm 8st 2.

Don't remember being on anything in that pic (or at all for at least a year, prescriptions and a little weed and benzos aside), I generally always look surprised in photos though, even when I'm the one taking them.

hahah no not quite.

LOL!!...It's a classic film though isn't it....."WHERE'S YOUR FACKIN' TOOL?"

Weird you should say that Kate as I have a horrible habit of not smiling in photos (it's not intentional) which I've been told makes me look mean and heartless (which I'm not - opposite in fact)

Just shows you shouldn't let looks deceive you :)

Also I thought it was Felix you were on about.....lovely bloke :)

Are those drinks not helping? Is it just your colon problem that makes then go through you or is it lactose intolerance (those drinks tend to be high in lactose)...Interesting thing about those drinks..I'm also a qualified accountant and have done extensive contracting work for the NHS as well as my paramedic stuff and the drug companies that distribute those drinks actually sell them to the NHS at a nominal fee of 1p each (obviously at a loss) on the condition that the NHs contract to but other much more expensive drugs through the same distributor.

With the self governing Foundation Trusts and stuff the NHS finance/contracting shit is really complicated. Sounds a good idea on paper giving everyone control of their own budgets and buy and sell services from each other but in practice it's an administrative nightmare.

Love a bit of Scum. Don't go in the greenhouse.

I always felt so sorry for that kid.... and when he cuts his radial artery...fucking lot of claret and that bastard screw ignores his call button.......Arghhh!! Bastard!!!

Incidentally in real life It's bery hard to kill one's self this way unless sitting ina abath the keep the blood flowing he artery clamps down and spasms when it is cut - preventing further blood loss - which is presumably an evolutionary mechanism. Although the possibility of the occurance of fatal radial artery haemorrhage exists, its theoretical likelihood is very small.

When's your shoulder op Owen? Will there be a long rehab period afterwards?

I think its more to do with the high sugar content which speeds up the bowel transit time, and then the ulceration inhibits absorption.

When the colitis isn't too bad I can hold my weight indefinitely (although I've struggled to gain weight, other than the few weeks I've been on prednisalone - man that stuff gives you the munchies!), but as soon as something goes wrong I can lose a kilo in two or three days. I was putting it on again just fine when I had the ileo before, and the rectum was bypassed, so I'm confident that I'll be able to gain weight again as soon as they chop the fucker out of me completely.

Yeah man it's a good film but it's fucking harrowing as well eh.

I don't know when my op is, I'm 'on the list' but you know better than most what the NHS is like. They haven't actually given me a date. I even paid to go private on all my diagnostics and I've still been waiting for fucking months and months without so much as a hint as to how long I may be waiting.

Rehab will be 3-6 months, problem is they don't really know how fucked up it is and won't know for sure until they get inside me. There's a chance they'll look and figure it needs bones pinning if there has been too much damage to the cartlidge and the bone has started rubbing. If that's the case I'll have to go back for a second op, same thing might happen if it doesn't rehab properly. I'm hoping for the best but I won't be shocked if it does need pinning given I've dislocated it upwards of 30 times and my shoulder blade has slipped out of position quite badly. I really really hope not though.

JOSH - 'm really sorry mate that sounds awful...best of luck to you that after the surgery you'll be able to get a better quality of life.

although I obviously have never had the medical problems that you've suffered with I found gaining weight really hard too. I started bodybuilding at about 145lbs (66kg) and eventually got up to around 262lbs (119kg) but it was really hard...was eating 6,000-7,000 kcals a day which is really hard when you haven't got a big appetite and it's coming from clean food as well. It's OK doing it for one day but to keep it up for months is really hard.

Anyway, I really hope things go well for you. That's awful that you've had to suffer like that :(

OWEN - that sounds tough mate. Hopefully when it's fixed though you'll be pain free and be able to get back to your kickboxing....Did you hurt it falling off a motorbike or something?

No I hurt it kickbboxing/doing bjj=D Only got myself to blame I guess. I have subsequently popped it doing everything from putting on a jumper too vigourously to going down a waterslide to falling off a bike though, it's pretty fubar. Oh, and I've just woken up with it dislocated after popping it in my sleep about five times as well, that is a rude awakening I tell thee.

Wow...that's awful (ignore my question in the bike thread cos you've just answered it).

I remember Doomed saying once that you'd hurt it coming off your bike but as you say it must just have been one time of many where it's played up.

hope your surgery puts it right mate :)
