Hugo is a nice enough kids film. I miss Blockbuster. I'm a bit old fashioned. I'll take a look at what films they have in the library. Have a quick flick thru here and see if there's anything I might be able to get off the council.

The Mission Impossible films are so shit, i dont know why i had to watch MI3 last night, apart from seeing if it could get any worse than the other ones. The stunts are quite impressive i suppose, but tom cruise just isnt convincing, and the films are all style over substance. The Bourne Identity films, and films like Taken were simillar kind of things but far far better. Got to see that Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the arch villian in this film, dont think ive seen him in anything else before and wasnt really a name i was familliar with until he died last month.

Pretty intrigued by the new Aaron Paul film, it'll be refreshing to see a fast paced film that hasn't used any cgi or green screen.

The car chase from bullet and this are some of the best

Cracking car chase, bit my nails to fuck and I don't even know the storyline lol

Need For Speed? I've heard that it's terrible.

Ahh that sucks. Not watched one of those kind of films since the first few The Fast & The Furious films which went to shit very quickly. Although maybe they were all shit I was just too young to notice.

ive actually found the fast and furious movies got better lately. ima sucker for The Rock! so might not be too objective, but the last 2 from that franchize were good fun!

The Rum Diary. 2011.

American journalist Paul Kemp takes on a freelance job in Puerto Rico for a local newspaper during the 1960s and struggles to find a balance between island culture and the expatriates who live there. Johnny Depp is brilliant as the lost and down at heel alcoholic journalist / writer who goes through some significant life changes throughout the course of the film. A madcap / dark comedy caper including scenes of hallucionegenic drug taking (the most powerfull drug in the world, taken via eye ball administration), extreme alcohol consumption, 460% proof alcohol for instance that enables them to ignite their breath and emit searing blowtorches. It's written by Hunter S Thompson and the guy that did Withnail And I. So yeah, it's bound to be a bit fucking chaotic, bonkers, and wild, and have a bit of substance to it. Based on a true story.

Director:
Bruce Robinson
Writers:
Bruce Robinson (screenplay), Hunter S. Thompson (novel)
Stars:
Johnny Depp,

Ive not read the book, but I enjoyed the film far more than i expected to. It starts off well and gets better and better as it goes along imo, I had quite low expectations as am not a huge johnny depp fanboy, and i didnt like the film of 'fear and loathing' at all. I have read that book a long time ago, and it was far better than the film.

I watched Gravity at the weekend. I don't know why I'm posting about it in this thread though because it was fucking awful. Not recommended.

i loved gravity! so did a lot of other people...

watched dallas buyers club. good acting but found the story a bit meh... jared leto was good too in it..
