Nightwatch is awesome. So is Daywatch. Is there a 3rd one?

WWZ is terrible.

ptch - there is no 3rd watch movie. they had planned it as a trilogy but money didnt come so they tried to fit everything in the 2nd one....

the raid:redemption - non stop brainless fighting and action. good for what it is....

Watched Winter's Bone yesterday, really nice film about a girl from backcountry hick town in the states searching for her fugitive father Maybe a little bit slow-paced and Oscar-y, but I didn't think that was to it's detriment, it's well fleshed out in terms of characters and themes. Also has a lot of female characters who actually say relevant things, which shouldn't be unusual but, unfortunately, is.

i liked that, i liked the uncle carrying around a huge bag of coke with him at all times. Fuckin crazy guy, id have stashed the big bag, and just had enough for the 1 day. It was a little slow, but i like those sorts of films sometimes, if they're done well they create an atmosphere.

Yeah it could have been a turgid, pretentious slog, but I think they got it just right, accomplished film.

Gonna go watch Natural Born Killers with my man

"...And I see the future. There's no death 'cause you and I, we're angels..."

I love Mickey and Malory.

Great film that SandyF,I have got the soundtrack to the film on CD somewhere, a great mix of songs and styles on there. Used to love listening to it with my wife when coming down off Ecstasy.
Saw a good film last night on Channel 5 'Warrior'.
Tom Hardy was excellent in it as he seems to be in any film I have seen him in.

It was the first time I had seen Warrior and I would deffo watch it again.
My son is an MMA fighter and has got his second fight on December 14th so I must tell him about this film if he hasn't already seen it as it would be right up his street.

Watched Ray, about Ray Charles played by Jamie Foxx last night. Had never been much into his music before, but there were some tracks on the film i liked. One track he just made up on the spot because a big promoter said he had paid for another 20 minutes, the rest of his band and backing singers picked it up instantly live on stage and it was a belter. That was a magic moment in the film. Everyone he meets is bowled over by his music.

In one incident when he heard that he was going to be playing infront of a segregated audience and a black person in the crowd outside protesting yelled at Ray he shouldnt be condoning that shit. Ray thought for a second or two, then agreed with the kid, told the mayor "you do what you got to do" when he threatened to sue Ray. This incident made all the newspapers and turned Ray into a major hero figure. The county gave him an official apology about 30 years later, and adopted one of his songs as their state song.

It has its sad parts too, his blindness, the incident in his childhoood, his heroin addiction, him falling out with his friends. All the sharks in the business. I didnt know anything about Ray Charles before but that film has been enough to show me that he was a great man.

I'll be rooting around for Ray Charle's Greates Hits next.

I haven't watched a good film in ages. I think I've exhausted the English Language canon, and I think I've made the French language canon quite tired.

I'm at a bit of a loss what to watch next, nothing I've read here really jumps out at me :(
