just watched outpost 2 black sun

A Nazi-hunter and a scientist fight to stop an evil army sweeping all in its way, in this zombie horror sequel from director Steve Barker. Discovering that NATO forces are facing a seemingly invincible army in Eastern Europe, investigator Lena (Catherine Steadman) sets out to discover if the rise of an army of zombie stormtroopers can be linked to the wartime experiments of notorious Nazi scientist Klausener (David Gant). Linking up with scientist Wallace (Richard Coyle), the pair journey deep into enemy territory, teaming up with a Special Forces unit on a search and destroy mission to prevent the Nazi army from rising once more.

good film worth getting plenty of zombies and killing plus a good story for once

looking forward to watching this

Pick of the week: Noam Chomsky and Michel Gondry, together at last

"Eternal Sunshine" director plus star lefty philosopher equals the weirdest animated film ever

How does one explain the fact that a leading figure in analytic philosophy and linguistic theory – abstruse academic fields that are not readily comprehensible to the layperson and have almost no practical or everyday resonance – has become America’s most prominent public intellectual and its leading anarcho-libertarian voice of dissent? Needless to say, most people who have read Noam Chomsky’s numerous works of political polemics about American imperialism, the mass media and the Middle East have not read “Language and the Study of Mind,” let alone “Morphophonemics of Modern Hebrew.” But there is a relationship between the two Chomskys, and also a person behind them, whom almost nobody knows. That impossible combination is what French filmmaker Michel Gondry sets out to capture, after his own peculiar fashion, in “Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?: An Animated Conversation With Noam Chomsky.”

Yes, it’s a cartoon. About Noam Chomsky. This defiantly strange little film cannot account for Chomsky’s celebrity, or the vibe of semi-macho coolness now attached to his public reputation. Mike Tyson supposedly read Chomsky (along with Mao Zedong) while in prison; NFL star turned Army Ranger Pat Tillman supposedly read Chomsky before his death in Afghanistan. He came up again in the sports pages last week, when Denver Broncos lineman John Moffitt cited Chomsky as an influence in his abrupt decision to quit football and walk away from a million-dollar salary. I will tell you frankly that “Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?” is not just for Chomsky acolytes, or for fans of Gondry’s handmade movies and videos (from the Chemical Brothers to “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and beyond, although we’re all going to pretend that “The Green Hornet” never happened). You really need to be both at once. There’s no doubting the authentic passion at work in this often-bewildering experience, but the Venn-diagram population of those who will find delight in it may be pretty small.

watched Thor 2.
surprisingly entertaining! also better than the first one, and i loved the fact that it kept things nice and tight, as in, it did not drag on for hours and hours

also
Captain Philips
very realistic looking, very well acted, dramatic and full of suspense, from a premise that did not promise too much at first sight. tom hanks can still act.

got oblivion and rec 2 to watch why send the out arse first for god sake plus i cancelled the rec dvd's stupid lovefilm

just watched oblivion was really good bit slow going at times but still a good film

apprarently nymphomaniac was meant to be over 5h long before they cut it up for theaters... im going to wait for the full version if i am to expose myself to it :P

foolsgold, why didnt you start with the first REC? its by far the best of the bunch imo....

going to recommend Prisoners. its a good movie, well played, though a bit long... a thriller/crime/drama of a rare kind these days.

not suprised ... full on blow job scenes and jism a plenty.

I'll take it whichever way it comes ;p ... as long as it's not censored to fuck. Certainly wouldn't complain at 5 hrs worth tho =D

I have a love/hate relationship with Von Trier. LOVE a lot of his flicks. Liked the whole Dogme concept and saw quite a few of his properly on big screen, including The Idiots, which is brilliant.

One reccomended not to watch is Frozen. I got so irritated with the level of the conversation, that i couldnt watch it for longer than 5 minutes last night. It seemed to be aimed at 13 year olds or something. Very, very bad and childish film.

Is that the one where they get stuck on the skylift? With wolves down on the slopes?

Got to be one of the dumbest films I've watched in the past decade

That was the 2010 movie - was a pile of shit.

There's the new animated one this year for this year - haven't seen that one yet.

I can recommend watching 'Tyson' - Just him on stage describing his life. Guy has a strange sense of humor and it's strange watching him having a laugh, baring his soul about the death of his mum, daughter etc.

Though the alot think his a thug etc, the guy is actually very smart.
I've seen a movie about him growing up, pigeons & all that stuff. World heavyweight champ at that age is bound to do something to your mentla health though.

A true tough guy, someone I 100% respect!!

yes it was fucking awfull wasnt it, i seriously couldnt get past the first 5/10 minutes when all the dialogue was like "you're a dick". "what an asshole that guy was". "you're the asshole dude" etc etc. Just young kids trying to be macho it was painfully embarrasingly bad. And they thought they were so cool and smart for jumping the cue and getting the lift at a discount. Fucking smug cunts.

If you dont even like the characters you're watching or dont find them interesting in any way then the film doesnt stand a chance. You'd seriously get a better dialogue just recording school kids talking in their lunch hour. I cannot believe how bad it was. I maybe shouldve ffwded to the wolves bit, at least that sounds a bit more interesting.
