EADD Movie Recommendations Thread v.4...not for TV series and stuff Dan...

I find that the experience can be recreated by placing a potato with two black olives attached to it in a box and staring at that for two hours. His agent is attempting to outlaw the sale of potatoes on the grounds that once a fan has constructed the apparatus outlined above they have no need to watch more of his client's films.

I don't want to, but I have to admit that I did laugh pretty hard at that :(

Just watched this .

The Green Zone‎

Nothing ground breaking at all but decent & some good action sequences . Worth a look if you like this sort of thing

Any decent thriller/action movie recommendations? Preferably newish ones that haven't been seen. Just stuck Gangster Squad on the DL hopefully it's good. Watched Unstoppable with Denzel last week which was pretty good.

Watched another, in the neververending of remakes,Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Wasn't called that but it was fucking shite, typically 'glossy' aswell as being downright shite. I haven't watched many remakes, but wish i had'nt.

The original Texas Chainsaw is raw, earthy, none of this Hollywood dross/gloss.

Stop making remakes, originals are classics and always the best. Leave them be. Not gonna make any difference, but i do have a choice.

Glossy is spot on for half the stuff being made now, i was trying to think of a word for it the other day,

remember watching the original texas chainsaw in my early teens, randomly saw it on a skly movie channel, found it creep as fuck

If you're still looking for action flicks to watch, I watched Jack Reacher (sp?) 2 days ago. It's got Tom Cruise in (sorry). I chuckled twice (make of that whatchoo will).

McAction movie. I give it 5/10 & watchable if you've got time to fill.

If you want to have your heart warmed and broken in one film, and be captured by it constantly too:

Robot & Frank
LOVED it. Watched it a few months back and recommeded it too. My kinda flick <3

Just watched Heat again after a long time, forgot how good it was.

My heart has never pounded so much during a film..

Couldn't believe it when they cast that borrower for a hardened character meant to be 6'5 and 110+ kg.

Just watched Taxi Driver last night. What an amazing film. Every scene is sculpted so perfectly. I can't think of one scene that is naff. If you haven't seen this Scorsese masterpiece, watch it. So many films after this try and copy it's formula but all fail. Epic, epic, epic. You'll not look at films the same way after seeing this. I will not be held responsible for every film you watch before or since being dulled into mediocrity.

Absolutely - One of my favourite films of all time now! (Along with I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK which I've mentioned before but it's just that good.)
Watched Tiny Furniture earlier, was quite a good Sunday film, although I wasn't paying full attention to be honest.
It's definitely worth your full attention, it's a sort of "slice of life" flick that's really low budget but really... well... realistic.
The soundtrack is quite catchy too :)

Just watched....
JUST WATCHED?!?!?!?!?!
As Keith Lemon would say, Where'h fuck av yoo bin?!?! ;)

Ahhhhh right, good yer following the dogma of it =D
How fucking epic is Bernard Herrmann's music in that film too - Every note given to every scene (including silence) is perfect :)
I must edit this post later with a film I've watched recently...

On The Road

It's absolutely brilliant in my eyes and I need to buy the book as soon as anyone buys any of my music again.

---Double Edit---

On the subject of roads, The Road is on iplayer and it reminds me of fond times reading it in hospital when my Pancreas had had enough of me!
