By time you've done a couple interviews it becomes like a rehearsed role play. I've got stock answers for each that I just adapt. As long as you remember the situation you did to go fit the competency....then you can adlib the describing of what you did.
 
I think the interview went pretty well actually. I was more confident than I expected and didn't stutter or mess up or anything.

It's for an Admin job which is totally not what I want to do but I can't pick and chose so if I get it I'll accept and work for the money until I get a test date for this oil and gas thing. If the test date is after I start working at this place I'll take a day off for it. I just hope it isn't 1 day after I start 8)
 
My old boss has said they need somebody and he's put in a good word for me with a company that's more local to me, so maybe soon will be working again.
Not sure which I'd prefer. I don't want to live near here, but I don't want to live near my old company either.
 
felix, when you're back from Rockness.. With your job, do you have the chance to work on their other rigs abroad? Say in the Gulf of Mexico and such.
 
I must have applied for more jobs in the last month than ever in my life, it's worked out well though cos despite a fairly harsh grilling over my age:work history ratio I've got a new job starting in a few weeks. It sounds better than what I had to leave behind in Leeds as well, so all the seemingly crappy things happening to me this year seem to be for good reason!
 
Well I just got fucking sacked for taking today off. Least I was planning on leaving anyway after this week as I got a new job the other week which I HOPE I can pull myself together enough for to start in a week! Could have done with an extra weeks wage though.

I called my agency boss utterly insensive said goodbye and hung up on her. Capatalist cunts! That is first and last time I work for a blue chip company. I know now why i've never done it before!

Ouch! Did you tell them you needed the day off or did you just not go in? Friend of mine has done that quite a few times and despite openly hating her sometimes her agency haven't gone that far. Was it the agency who sacked you or the company?
 
i'm just about to leave for my first 'interview' for JSA. i'm going for a backdated claim for the past 4 months too.

oh, the fucking horror. :(
 
Hey, if you do get the backdated claim then is it a bulk payment that they give you? Or do they just pay you a bit more each week 'till it's covered?

If it's a bulk payment then you'll be getting quite a bit. Nearly a grand.
 
they basically said to forget the backdated amount. apparently no-one ever gets it for the reasons i gave, i.e. living off my savings.

apart from that, it was nowhere near as bad as i was expecting. they've come on a long way in the past 14 years (the last time i signed on). it was more like a bank or something.
 
I absolutely hated signing on. :\

I did it for about 6 months and I felt like the biggest loser in the world. That must of been about 8 years ago now.
