well the interview was a bit of an anti-climax really! it seemed almost like a formality. so... i'm just waiting for the letter through the door, and that'll be that. he asked me when i could start, and i said any time, but as long as i get a certain weekend off for a *cough* family reunion thing (a.k.a. Rockness ;)) i would be happy. :D

so he looked at his calendar and said that would be no problem. i don't want to jump the gun, but if it all goes through i would be starting at their office for three days next week for inductions & training with my first flight on thursday. home two weeks after that, and to rockness the day after!

it looks like a huge and exciting project and i will be involved from day 1. this is actually like a dream job for me. i am fucking over the moon here. :)

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off - contract lasts for at least 2 years.

*watches out for the postie*

You say its like your dream job but didn't you hate being offshore when you did it before?

no?

the last time i worked offshore (for about 6 months) i was just a joe random working there from trip to trip, never sure if i was going back again or not. on this one i'll have my own locker space and office and computer etc. and be there long enough to get to know everyone, plus i'll be working for the same company as all the main people there.

we're gonna dump another 10,000 tonne platform into the north sea, woohoo! =D

What would you have done if he said you couldn't have the Rockness weekend off? :)

You fuckin love having a job / working / talking about jobs / making threads about jobs / boring the arse off us about jobs. ;)

You'ld sack Rockness in a second and report to the platform for duty. :D

but i could tell he was being amenable about the whole thing.

of course i like having a job, most of us do, don't you know? well those of us that like buying toys anyway.
 
drugs would be included in a very long line of things. step 1. is buying a new house.

ok, getting some decent drugs is step 1, step 2 is buying a new house. ;)

it's a newish platform in the north sea. flying out next thursday. look at some of the accommodation! :D

Finding a job.

I have been unemployed for around 2-3 months and frankly it is getting old, I've been trying to find a job with no luck. I've been checking the job centre daily and the local newspapers along with gumtree but have had no luck.

Im not really bothered with what I am going to be doing as I have limited experience which is within construction/warehouse work.

I just need some advice for finding a job, thanks.

I dont i've tryed the networking route. My friends and relatives are unable to offer any help
