I think part of his schtick may come from the fact that largely in the lounge they can't talk about drugs. So if someone is in need of help, there's a lot of background PMing and support that goes on. I think he's mistaking this personal chat and support he gives people in PMs isn't the same as the conversations we have in EADD openly, and therefore it should be the kinds of things we should be saying in public to people who need help.

But he doesn't realise that we're doing the same thing in PMs (and via other methods too), ontop of what's discussed in the forum. The people PMing one another can have a different level of conversation that you generally only have between each other. Neither would want to share that on a public board, nor would they ever want to.

maybe split the relevant stuff into a new/seperate thread? that would allow it to remain in it's lighthearted original guise, sans trolling and hard knock life dicksizing... which admittedly i seemed to help fuel along the way. im very comfortable in my manhood, promise

He doesn't understanding the key difference between enabling people to try to help themselves, and reduce harm, and actually physically helping them to do it. Nor that the whole 'man the fuck up, or youre going to DIE' isn't the kind of terminology that most people respond to, it normally makes their ears shut down.

Unless you can be physically there to hold the hand of the person youre trying to help, and take them through the physical stages, the 'you're going to die if you don't stop you stupid cunt' has only a negative effect in the main.

Samaritans would just make sure you have made peace with god before you died. They wouldn't want you going to hell, that's why they work the suicide hotlines. Even worse if you are not baptised and you spend eternity in purgatory.

For someone who spends her time reporting everyone's posts and memborating you really don't have much of a grasp on harm reduction.
 
marmalade is the last person to resort to the report function, otw. far far worse offenders than her in that field


your recidivism and staff position, i believe, were the aggravating factors

personally im inclined to draw a qualitative distinction between lounge mods and the rest of bluelight, but thats probably a minority view

Erm I haven't reported anyones posts from this thread. Havent reported a post for ages, and it certainly wasn't one of yours.

The one and only time I've reported one of yours was from when you were being a Douchebag to Mugz, just after the Debaser thing happened in France. [edit] The Lounge modding of that situation all round was totally fucking deplorable btw. Including COTB's. In fact, especially hers.

And that was because at the time it was your policy as a poster and MOD to only communicate on the forum in pictures, which didn't clearly state what you were trying to say, and just ended up as another Troll tool. (oooh, there's a theme here emerging about you, can you see what it is yet, besides you being just plain clueless?)?. Your picture gimmick was just another absolutely retarded misjudged idea and a perfect example of why you weren't fit to be a Mod, even back then.

If I've forgotten about a post of his I've reported in the past Mods, please feel free to correct me.

I'd be more than happy to acknowledge any posts I've reported if and when people should ask.

I tend to like to have my disagreements for all to see, so it flushes out all the bullshitters and reduces the amount of gossip mongerers getting the opportunity to shit fling (ie: lie) in PMs without the truth being heard, and their nonsense going unquestioned

I only ever reported 1 Private message & 2 posts in my whole time, the reason was due to the content which went far above being a "troll" & was meant to actually upset me.

Maybe my message wasn't clear, I was saying OTW was in bad form to say that, it was no comment on your conduct Marmalade.
I was trying to say in my own way & with a Kurt Cobain quote he should keep that stuff private & off a open board, it was no comment on your forum ways :)
 
Why report little tiffs between people in the first place. Surely you are mature enough to fight your own battles without needing mass edits and thread closures. Is it little wonder everyone here likes to blame the man/ the Tories/ the illuminati for all their problems. If you don't agree with something you could always step away and get some fresh air rather than crying like a child. The real world is cold, it is tough and sometimes you don't have mummy and daddy to tell you that there are no monsters under your bed. If you can't deal with that then perhaps you aren't mature enough to do adult things like take hard drugs either.

I'm not talking about you reporting me. I have been on this site long enough to know the rules. I'm talking about every other little whine and whinge you go running to the mods about. Here's a thought, rather than complain about how this place is run, how about modding yourself. There are plenty of forums here that run on skeleton staff that would love a rule book following know it all like yourself.
 
I don't go whining and whinging regularly. I only ever whine about key stuff and that very rarely happens. I keep my whinges for the full view of the board.
