Dre produced some fucking classic beats. Eazy E died from shagging too many skanks & Ice Cube wrote his best stuff.

Dre wins.

Brimz, this might have been answered (just skimmed the thread), LL was beefing with Canibus. Canibus is such a shite cunt. He got fucking mauled by some guy I've never heard of in a televised Pay-Per-View freestyle battle not long ago. Canibus whipped out his massive notebook & started reading his fucking lines!!! It was proper embarrassing.

Hahahahaha

I know a bit about the LL - Canibus beef . Tbh i thought it was one of those where two failing MCs are looking for publicity & trying to revive dead careers type thing.
What this happened on Pay TV 8( what daft cunt would pay for that , is it on you tube sounds funny as fuk .
Canibus did actually make a few good songs but well yeah .............

As for Ice Cube writing Eazys stuff , i think you will find that the D.O.C ghost wrote almost all of his & Dre's lyrics , not saying that Cube didn't contribute .

Ice Cube wrote Boyz N The Hood, one of Eazy's best tracks. I know The DOC wrote a lot of their stuff as well, but I don't know what exactly.

Here's one you might not know. It surprised me. Jay-Z wrote all of Still Dre. Snoop & Dre's parts.

nah i didn't

Another odd one .

Craig G wrote all the freestyles for Eminems 8 Mile Movie , how strange is that ?

Really all this again kin ell . It's much bigger than Dre n Eazy as well people have written books about this .

What about Jerry Heller , Eazy's white business partner at Ruthless Records , Suge Knight , The D.O.C , Gangsta Dresta and B.G. Knocc Out ?

Tupac , Puff Daddy , Bad Boy Records , B.i.G .

That's just for starters .

Fuk it let's just have a thread about the whole East Coast West Coast Rap Feud yeah ?

Personally i like the Nas - Jay Z tiff that created this monster of a track Nas-Ether

At least Nas wrote his stuff .

Btw . Eazy didn';t write his own lyrics .8o

I don't really know much about rap.

Though, as a method of escapism from mundane coursework, this month I have developed a severe interest in the Dr Dre and Eazy E fued of 1993.

Thread is made with a touch of irony, of course no-one cares about a single 1990's rap fued... rather, it's been made to draw attention to the industry that makes millions out of 16year olds wanting to feel hard.

This one always makes me laugh: Ace Hood - Hustle Hard

In the video, he raps about tough times in the ghetto, having to hustle to feed and clothe his familly.... While he is sporting Bright, Laser surgeoned, Celebrity White teeth, wearing make up/cover up, brand new designer shirt, clearly been to the gym frequently and on a strict diet of organic foods.

Kendrick Lamar - Swimming pools. This is a very good song... occasionally you get the odd, good rapper who has seen life and wants to express it through music... surpassing much of the studio gangsters, who create their personas appropriately to make money from American kids with deflated esteems

eh.. you cant put too much weight behind freestyle battle stuff, anyone can have a bad/good day. ll cool j was meant to be the king of battles B.I.T.D, but look at the shite he dolled out in the studio

same with notorious big, he said him and jay z used to do it all the time in school and 'jay would always win because he was fast' ..but for my 2p - biggie is far, far superior in almost every way possible. guess its a subjective though

I completely agree with you. That particular Canibus battle is different though. He doesn't just get beat. He pulls a fucking notepad out & reads from it. At a mad hyped up battle, that they charged people to watch. It's quite sad tbh.

I can't think of a good Dre song. I never liked that laid-back pseudo funk. I preferred the harder stuff on Straight outta compton.

Eazy was a better rapper than Dre. They were both pretty fucking shit to be honest tho. As Sam Kinison once said "2 Live crew have just released a song called Suck my dick - I don't think Lennon and McCartney have too much to fucking worry about".

Still dre is my favourite piano hook. Ii love going to fancy bars in hotel lobby's and playing that just to see if someone in a nice suit would join me and rap over it.

So far I have only ever been escorted from the premises :(

That's why I said Dre wins. Neither are great rappers. I don't really think of Dre as a rapper, he's a producer who recites the occasional verse written for him by someone else. He's a shit hot producer, in the old school sense, ie a real studio producer rather than just a beatmaker. I fucking love "that laid-back pseudo funk" though.

That's a great quote btw.

^ That's some mighty fine dissing.

I had a long distance trip just this week. So I decided to download an album for the journey. I downloaded snoop doggy dogg's debut album "Doggystyle", so I could hilariously imagine low IQ'd Americans strutting to words like "Bow wow wow, yippee yo yippe yay, death row in the mothafucking house".

I was shocked however. The music was actually really fucking good. I repeated the whole thing 4 times (The time it takes me to cross half the country). Not a song I didn't like.

Seems, to make money, they have to fake that they're "gangsta"... but another aspect of dollar pursuance, is the music actually has to be damn catchy... and snoopy has certainly achieved this.

I don't know whether it could be argued that Snoop "faked being gangster". He was a drug dealer and a pimp who ran close with the Rollin 20 crips. If he wasn't a fully fledge member he was close enough to be threatened with death threats over the years because of close ties with them.
