EADD Heroin thread v.XXV -- a quarter centuary of threads if not yet a full decade since the 'drought'...

I've got chronic headaches, brainfog and anxiety which are definitely linked to my chronic constipation and bloating.

No doctor has been able to diagnose me and it's been over 4 years now since symptoms began.

I'm told it's all in my head, that the digestion issues can't be linked to the anxiety.

The thing is I know myself very well and I've done countless 'experiments' with various diets and probiotic and antibiotics and all have reinforced my theory.

There is a book I found which I feel offers a viable working theory as to what is wrong with me. It's called 'the inflamed mind' and its wrote by:

Edward Thomas Bullmore, FRCP, FRCPsych, FMedSci is a British Neuropsychiatrist, neuroscientist, and academic. Since 1999, he has been Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge.

So this makes sense to me, describes what I'm going through etc. But it's new research, newer studies etc. Not in current NHS training or doctor/specialists understanding.

So I'm forced to self medicate for a severe, undiagnosable condition, unfortunately.

80mg oxycontin works wonders along with 2mg clonazepam and 300mg pregabalin.

240mg codeine does the trick too to be fair, just not quite as well, and obviously less enjoyable. It fills in the gaps between the expensive oxy.

I no doubt have an opiate addiction at this point. But I have 3 or 4 years worth of codeine stocked up so I'm not too worried at the moment.

Life was miserable and the anxiety and headaches unbarable before I started self medicating. It really was getting to the point of it not being worth living. At least now I can function as a somewhat normal/capable human being.

That’s your problem right there. Taking any form of opiates is going to give you digestive issues. Have you tried (honestly) going drug free for a period of say, six months?

If you haven’t, it’s quite clear your issues are self inflicted, a healthy diet and exercise wouldn’t hurt either.

If you’ve had these issues for this length of time, have you had a colonoscopy?

Anxiety can cause diarrhoea, but I can’t say I’ve ever been presented with a case of it causing constipation.

I didnt take opiates at all for years. That's why I have so much codeine saved up! Prescribed it, collected it, had no interest in it. I discovered oxy just before last xmas.

This has been going on for over 4 years. It came out of nowhere, first constipation (prescribed laxido) , then mild brain fog, then bloating, then worsening anxiety and headaches. Those latter 2 in particular continued to get worse over the years.

I'm just masking the issues but that's all I can do.

I have had a colonoscopy, although my gastroenterologist later said it was probably unnecessary. It came back clear. As do all my blood tests. Says I'm healthy...hard to believe.

I assure you I have had more than 6 months taking nothing at all. The sequence of events wasn't opiates first then all this resulting. I wish it were that simple.

I feel like I need a real life Doctor House :(

Don't go anywhere near methadone. It's nasty stuff. Also if you have a low tolerance extremely easy to OD and die. Plus the withdrawal is fucking horrific. Lasts for weeks some people months.

However if you're desperate then your an adult so it's your decision. Try CWE codeine or DHC.

yep. methadone is v nasty stuff, im pxed 60 ml a day, i take about 20 a day for 3 days, then i do a day off it, perhaps using poppy tea or nothing. i did well, best i did for ages, done best part of 2 weeks wo gear, and ive been on a 3 day thing, dangerous territory.

anyway, h supply is the same here by what i see. it really makes me wonder about how it gets in and that drought where it all disappeared as good as over night. some lines are still open, its still getting in coz the fellas in brum dont seem to be panicking

I love methadone when you got nothing you b fiending but you have some methadone it's all good only thing I don't like about methadone is it makes me feel empty and depressed this would be fine if it had the euphoria of other opiates I need to get a methadone script sorted.

does anyone actually prefer methadone to heroin?

Methadone is only nasty if you don't take it properly or are forced to come off suddenly.

To answer Ganjcat, yes I actually preferred methadone to heroin once I became tolerant to the heroin euphoria. Once you've lost the euphoria it's all about just staying well, and methadone does that brilliantly..

I can still get high on heroin so I prefer h, I still crave it if I'm on methadone though just not as much I don't like how methadone is oral meaning you have to wait for it to kick in while your sick while heroin you can just smoke it instantly at least with this corona thing I've been forced to cut down a lot so it's a blessing in disguise when I get paid on Tuesday I will be tempted to just to back to how I was taking it before but I really gonna try not to, I will be having a nice big smoke when I do get a few grams I always do but then I will have to force myself to come down and get sick then take just enough I have been planning this for a while but always ended up just staying high just smoking it as soon as I cannot stop nodding until I'm nodding again it's easier said then done I know a 40 year old who does this and they are never sick well they are but they know they got some I don't think it's possible to be the same kind of sick where you won't got nothing compared to when you got plenty but your just waiting as long as possible so you get the most out of it I've been so depressed from running out so many times for over indulging that if I don't use it moderately from now on i never will

Ask to see/referred to a pain specialist if you haven’t already, but you’ll be put in touch with a physiotherapist along side PMS.

I've already seen the physio. He arranged an appointment with a 'pain specialist' back in October 2019, with my appointment being in May 2020. Who knows if that will still happen now with Covid?

I've tried codeine and DHC. I find tramadol to be a much better painkiller. I could get Oxycodone or heroin from the darkweb but in all honesty I'm not looking to get high, and I want to avoid addiction and withdrawals etc. I just want to be able to do normal things and keep my job without experiencing pain all the time.

So far, my research says methadone is my best bet?

Heroin/morphine got a much more euphoric, warm high and more histamine release.

Methadone is stronger tho. You know what i mean if u have ever taken a huge dose of methadone at once (400 mg+). It makes you nod like crazy and does that for 12-16 hours straight. Its not as euphoric, but stronger,if that makes sense

Even 80mg oxycodone is mildly euphoric for me. But anything above that and I'm pretty much guaranteed to visit the land of nod. I vape weed sometimes and that helps/synergises greatly.

80mg is highly functional for me. No slurring my words which my house mate noticed when I took much more than 80mg (up to a max of 160mg) and my memory is obviously far more in tact on just 80.

I haven't looked to push it yet with this new batch, even though its Easter. So far so good. As I said previously OC is a god send for my anxiety, chronic headaches and brainfog. Shame it costs over 200quid a month at 80mg a day.

I wish I could get a prescription for it instead of rubbish codeine. Well not rubbish. It's there to fall back on and at least it's just straight up codeine with no apap.

Zoplicodone sucks Mexican men's big meatballs and chats more shit then a dog

I fortunately had quite a nasty Histaminic reaction to a trés small sip of Mdone.
Nub that shit = Gimmi Bupes anyday these days!

I took so much Zopiclone once that my room started to get infested with 1000s of black little insects...and then I fell asleep.

It should be noted that even as a 15 year opiate user, 400mg methadone would have me fucked, and this amount would kill your average first timer 10 times over.
Something to consider.
10 or 15mg methadone would be plenty for someone who doesn't take opiates much. Be careful, it takes 2 hours to fully kick in. Don't take 15mg, wait half an hour and take 15 more or you will spend ages puking or maybe die.
