Hey I know that X is suppose to effect your cycle but my question is I just started using X and I havent had my period since April. I usually get the last week of the month. Which is when I first used it. I have use it twice since then. At the end of May and this weekend. However, I have yet to see a period. I have done a million pregnancy test, and all of them are negative. So could X effect the result of the pregnanacy test? I am going to make an appt. to go to the doctor but, If i am not preg I dont want to tell I am using X.

Ugghh any advice is apperciated.

i've never had an effect with e n my period didnt realise there was supposed to b an effect with them interesting i learn more every day hehe. stress is a major key i thought i was pregnant not to long ago n yeh im not but my period didnt come because i was so stressed..
P.

yeah the more active and stressed out u are the longer u have to wait and makes u think ur preg..which makes u even more stressed but just chill out don't drink caffeine when ur supposed to get it and u'll be fin

Sort of along the same line as the thread starter's question... Do any of you girls know if E does anything to the affectiveness of birth control pills? I usually take mine at 9 pm, which is around the time I drop when I roll... so on those nights I try to take it earlier so that it would absorb before the E got into my system.... No surprises yet, but has anyone else ever had problems?

if u roll while on the pill it totally cancelles it out...there's no point.....if u pop E than U shouldn't even look at birth controll

You sure bout that? I mean, I only roll once every 2 to 3 months... What about other forms of birth control? The patch? Depo?

well first off ur not supposed to do drugs on the pill so i dunno ask ur doctor because my gyno told me it's not safe it cancells it out

*laughs* "Hey Doc, I do Ecstacy!" hehe. In any case, I don't get much booty anyway, so it probably won't be a problem :p I haven't had any problems yet, and neither has my friend who rolls more frequently and is on the pill/patch (she switched for a few months)... I was just curious.

And besides, doctors will say anything to scare people away from drugs 8)

omg. i seriously dont think ecstasy "cancels out" bcp.
otherwise i would be pregnant multiple times over. as would many of my friends. moreover, everyone would talk about it because it would be a REALLY REALLY BIG PROBLEM and everyone would be falling pregnant if they didnt know.

XxmissionBeThYxX - on what basis are you making these "common sense" comments...
if it is so common sense, please back them up with some common sense reasons.

Also, doctors are going to try and get you to stop taking drugs if they can. if she said "its not safe" ....her real reason might have been that it is easy to forget to take your bcp when you are keeping unusual hours and your tired/scattered/going out for days on end/binging for days on end. if it was an explanation such as this, i imagine it would have been convenient to leave the reasons ambiguous.

sglian - as everyone's said period's can come late/stop either temporarily or permanently from stress, poor eating habits and how active you are.
people who are annorexic, for example, often loose their periods until their diet improves or permanently.
its a matter of how far along the spectrum you are in terms of stress and eating etc.

there may be other reasons that im not aware of...im not sure if there are any medical conditions that might have this as a symptom.
so the long and the short of it is you should see a doctor. if you dont want to see your usual gp, go see a new one.

Do you have a "light" period, like me?

Because I've done E twice while having my period, and the first time it stopped my period altogether on the second/heaviest day. The second time, it really slowed down my period.

So I have a feeling E makes you skip/slow/stop your period, if the two coincide. I have no medical backup for this, just speaking from experience. I think it's because E puts a big strain on your body. I say, just stop the E for a while (like a whole month) or don't do it when it's your period week, and see if the period comes back.

Good luck!;)

I've only rolled about half a dozen times or so, but I have experienced delayed and lightened menstruation after taking e on multiple nights over 2-4 days (ie, at a music festival or the like), usually two to four hits each time, just before my monthly friend was expected. so you're definitely not the only person in the world to experience this. I should mention that I was doing a number of other drugs (straight mdma, opium, pot, acid) during those times too, but I attribute the irregularity mostly to the e because I've done the others sans e with no ill effects on other occasions.

I hypothesize that it might have to do with the fact that e stimulates the over-production of certain chemicals in your body, and if your busy producing more of those chemicals, maybe it's delaying or inhibiting the production of the hormones that bring on your period, but that's just a college sophmore's guess with one year of chem and no bio and not enough reading on the chemical effects of ecstacy, so don't quote me or anything.
...Could also be due to the fact that plenty of people get very dehydrated and lose appetite while and after rolling, and you definitely need your nutrients and fluids to have nice regular cycles.

In regards to the pregnancy tests, remember that it takes a little while (one? two? three weeks?) for pregnancy to become detectable by over-the-counter tests. A clinical test can detect it a bit sooner. If you go more than two weeks without any bleeding or you miss more than one period in a row, try testing again and/or consult your doctor. And don't be afraid to tell your doc that you've been taking e. He/she wants to help you, not turn you in.

And on the subject of e and birth control: When I went to get my perscription, I mentioned to my gynocologist that I'd done ecstacy before and she didn't say anything about it affecting any method of birth control (we covered all of them and I am currently taking Ortho Evra, aka the patch.

Just stay on the patch I am on the pill and I get my period every 28 days. Unless I miss a pill then I will have my period for 2 weeks.

I used to know this girl who got her period like 4 time a year, consider yourself lucky if you have missed it for that long!

Just asked my girlfriend and The cycle is disturbed for her to.

Btw.. I was @ doctor for some problem I had.. I told him i was doing X and he said it wasnt b/c of that i had the problems I had.. It was b/c of what i eat etc.. (dont try to make Eat INTO E :D, I meant food).

My point is.. just tell ur doctor what ur using/doing... He has "silence duty" or wtf the name is in english..

That way he/her can help u much better if he/her knows what hes dealing with

Doctors isnt supposed to make u stop... Not if u tell em u know plenty of stuff and ffs.. This is a harm reduction site.. Tell me smth a doctor could tell me about E i didnt know myself..

when i first started dropping E i didn't get my period for about 3-4 mos. drugs, poor eating habits, stress, etc. can all cause a cessation to your period. it will return eventually and it might be lighter than normal or even heavier than normal, it just depends. i would suggest getting on some type of BC (birth control) to regulate your period if you're having problems with it.

i also disagree that dropping E would decrease the effectiveness of the pill/patch/shot and like pippin said, girls would be falling pg everywhere if this was the case.

i think you just need to stop stressing about it (i know, easier said than done) and it should return shortly. if you truly think there's no possible way you can be pg then you really have nothing to worry about because more than likely, it's the drugs.

im curious your age and how long you have been menstruating ... sometimes in the first year of starting a regular cycle ...there can be absent or light periods.

...great advice has already been mentioned!
