Dxm and Benadryl

High horse? It's called harm reduction. Deliriants have a much higher risk of physical harm compared to most other psychoactive drugs. A lot of people enjoy huffing gasoline or paint too. If I found out my friend was getting his rocks off sniffing gold spray paint would I shrug my shoulders and say "LOL to each their own man"? No, cause that would make me a shitty friend.

"It feels like shit but at least it's interesting". That reminds me of the It's Always Sunny episode where they're combining beer, glue, and catfood for its interesting chemical effects. If my high horse raises me above the swath of fools choking down antihistamines by the boxful then I think I'll keep riding, thanks.
 
I wouldn't compare DPH to huffing spraypaint.

I've tripped on it a handful of times and suffered no negative side effects.
Not that I'd want to do it again.

I know people who abused the hell out of it, and are perfectly fine now.

I'm not saying its harmless but I don't think its nearly as bad as huffing shit.

I wouldn't compare deliriants like DPH to huffing paint, but I certainly will mention that this type of thread seems to crop up every couple months on bluelight.

I would like to repeat what I have said in previous threads of this nature:: combining DXM with DPH is probably about as toxic as the poisonous CCC pills. That's right, diphenhydramine is an anticholinergic antihistamine that is very similar to chlorpheniramine. Probably competes for the same CYP enzyme in the liver for detoxification. DXM+DPH probably lasts much longer than either one alone, and is probably of the same danger level (toxic conditions in the body, not just a bad trip) as DXM+CPM (the combo found in CCC that is known to be deadly).

Please, in the sake of harm reduction, do not combine large doses of dextromethorphan with diphenhydramine.

And if you ever have the inkling to take high doses of diphenhydramine alone, let me remind you that it is basically the same state of mind as a Datura or Belladonna trip-- delirious mayhem in which I must insist that you have a trip sitter who is physically capable of restraining you in case you decide to do anything stupid whilst the drug is controlling your body. We simply do not need any more cases of people losing their shit and hurting themselves in a delirious state. DON'T DO IT ALONE!
 
Isn't the problem with triple C's that the amount as chlorpheniramine taken is dangerously high, even if there wasn't any dxm involved?
 
^ Correct, there was a guy on Shroomery who posted about his chronic use of CCC in his teenage years, he needed a transplant or something to live.

I hear 1st and 2nd Plateaus are OK, but keeping it to the very minimum.
Honestly, CCC's are not safe.
 
Back in the day I used to take MASSIVE doses of diphenhydramine.. It can be a seriously hectic and twisted outrageously visual ride. I have maybe 2-3 DXM experiences but the visuals were never as crisp and lifelike as DPH for me... I prefer DPH, not any more mind you, I couldn't imagine going back to that painfully terrifying ride nowadays with such lovely phenethylamines at my disposal. I don't think the combination of DPH/DXM is advisable, they're both fully fleshed hallucinogens on their own.
 
imo, diphenhydramine is really only useful as a sleep aid when you don't have anything better lying around. anything more than 200mg gets very weird and unpleasant for me.
 
I never said it was pleasant.. Certainly worthwhile for anyone who wants a very strange and exotic variety of drug induced hallucinations.
