Doctors really look at you differently once your diagnosed substance abuse disorder, like your an alien.

That's very true. I have "drug abuser" written all over my medical records after admitting my addictions to my doctor, and now there are certain drugs that I'll never be prescribed - opiate painkillers, benzos, amphetamines, and even certain types of anti-depressants! The only reason I'm still being prescribed diazepam is because I'm tapering down, and stopping abruptly would probably kill me.

gonna sit ur ass in jail until a field test gets back proving what chemical it is, escpecially RX drugs, could take months, if u got money u get bailed out, charges DISORDERLY CONDUCT, pill bottle yes, crushing the pills defeat the purpose the cops cant read the imprint to match the bottle, dumb idea

You would get arrested and later acquitted after lab results come back but they probably wouldnt return the powder to you, and they would likely contact your doctor to tell him/her that have been caught misusing your prescription, because if you look at the stuff that comes on your Rx paper it will likely state DO NOT crush, break, or chew this pill. If you have a Rx you might as well keep it in its normal state to be safe from harassment and jsut snort it when need be in a bathroom stall or in the car....public is not the brightest idea IMO

Why don't you bring your pill bottle with you and a spoon or something?
Find a public washroom or somewhere outside that's secluded, whip out the pills, use some paper, crush with the spoon and snort them. Then you can walk around without having to worry about being arrested.

Just make sure you clean the spoon after, and if they ask why you have a spoon just say something like "I made soup in a cup and was drinking it outside".

YES it is ILLEGAL in the USA to take your prescription medication in a way not consistent with the label. YES you will be arrested. Granted you'll probably just end up in rehab with a great big "DRUG ABUSE" sticker in your medical file... but who wants that??

You've got two options:

1) Talk to your doctor. I have a Vicodin script which I take for migraines and my ulcer - both of which cause nausea and vomiting. So they often get snorted. My doctor is completely cool with this. Granted, he's not going to put "rail that shit" on the label... and I'm not going to blasting away in public... but we're both happy.

2) Don't get caught. I did NOT ask my doctor if he was okay with my Ritalin script being nose candy. Having a few pills ready to go in the same bottle as your whole pills - GREAT idea. If you have to carry some around with you... treat it like coke or E or whatever. I like to empty out a cig and refill it with my crushed up pills. Tap some out on a credit card or the palm of your hand IN PRIVATE and have at it. For god's sake do NOT carry around any kind of paraphernalia. NO straws or bullets or whatever. Yes, you WILL go to jail. And NEVER crush pills in public. You'll never be able to explain that one. All it takes is one nosy toddler sticking their head into your bathroom stall and BUSTED. Plus you'll just end up wasting pills. They're not that easy to crush. They like to escape and go flying across the room if you're in a hurry and don't have the proper equipment. Another good idea - when you fill your script keep the bottle from the previous month. You can keep a pill or two crushed up in it and keep it in the trash bag in your car. (NOT with a straw - plan ahead to make one) Then it's just your old script bottle with some leftover crap in it. And you've got the new one with the pills in your bag or whatever or can simply allow your doctor to be contacted and you're innocent.

Good question.

I have carried my scripted methylphenidate when I go out clubbing. I almost got into a fight with a bouncer who tried to confiscate my MPH and I am wondering if the police would arrest me for carrying such a drug in a setting which suggests recreation: a nightclub or at night in a bar/pub.

What I have done is carry the box which has my name on it but unsure as to how useful that'd be if stopped by law enforcement agents.

I live in Texas. It's so funny because I asked my pharmacist about laws regarding how to carry my scheduled drugs.

She said that the medication has to be in the bottle. It is against the law to carry it in anything else, even with those papers with your name drug dose ect on it from the pharmacy.

You can not carry your meds in pill containers. This made no since to me because that's what they are for. But we are dealing with narcotics.

She said that a patient was pulled over and found pills that belonged to her in the car. She had records that it was legally prescribed to her. She still went to jail. She had to get a lawyer and fight it. She is still in the process.

Is she telling the truth? Idk really. But am I willing to take a chance? No.

When I go somewhere I put a few pills in my last months bottle and carry it. I would prefer a small cute pill bottle but I'm not will to chance going to jail. I only do this because I don't want to have my meds stolen and have to deal with that mess.
