Drugs And Parents [MEGA-MERGED]

i came forth and told my father everything about using cocaine heavily when i was 15. i felt like shit holding it in.

he took it well, and we both benefited from it.

it's up to you and depends on how your parents deal with this type of thing.

good luck with whatever decision you may make.

definatly a thing thats up to how you think they'll react to it.

I told my mom and all I get is constant hassle about "are you high" "have you been taking pills again?" "how are you cold? are you doing that..WITHDRAW thing agian?"

How old are you? Are you living on your own for the most part? Maybe you could quite for the month that you are with your parents. I can definitely understand not wanting to tell your parents, I never told my Pappa. But I can't see any bad coming from you telling them. Sure they might be pissed but at least everything is out in the open.

I am not going to fully tell my parents until I am completely independent from them.

^Are your parents not on BL then?

In answer to the original question, it depends on your folks. Mine are cool & have even tried some stuff with me, but some people are very square. You may get an unexpected reaction if this is the case.

i told my mum everything, she was pretty shocked more to the fact that i wasnt dead.. first it was like ALL those nites you said you were drinking you were popping xtc? what else? i told her i done speed but that was obvious when i lost 30kg over 6months quickly. then i told her i basicly tried EVERY opiate i could get my hands on and every benzo i could and i was ordering them from os. was a bit of a shock but its not like she can turn back the time and i would of done it anyway.. i feel closer to my mum now that i told her but everytime i go out now i konw what she is thinking lol..

hahahah. exactly.

it's hard to say without knowing your specific situation and your parents. all i know is i 'came clean' to my parents and I REGRET IT SOOOO MUCH. they both smoke weed and i thought they would be understanding...well my dad has been pretty great/supportive about it. but my mom is constantly suspecting me of doing drugs and it's caused a LOT more problems than it's solved. if you do come clean expect to be suspect for quite a while. there are other ways to get help if you really need it, and while it might feel like "the right thing to do" also consider how much it will hurt them to discover something like that about their child.

only you can answer that question, no-one here knows your situation so no-one can give a serious answer

Do your parents use?

i find myself wondering how important genetic predisposition to drug use really is.

did/do your parents use?

if so, did they use the same drug(s) you do?

did their use influence yours? did it dissuade you from certain drugs?

mom - never, anything.

dad - yes, but ive never heard it come from his mouth. just heard stories from my brother that hes heard from my uncle. my mom has said when they first got together he was at the bar 6 days a week.

yes and yes.

both my parents used coke in the 80s.

my dads done more than my mom, however ive done more than either of them combined.

i did use with them when i was a teenager, however ive given up coke to better drugs since then. theyre still stuck on that one, and since ive moved out i have no idea if they still use or not.

yeah, they were both marijana clutivators, and smokers. Now that my dads past, me and my mother smoke out lots (weed only) she looks down on my other drug use, and does not codone any of it.
