Drugs And Parents [MEGA-MERGED]

Sheesh, I didn't think this would be a huge deal, christ man..

Could a mod close this or something, this is gonna be a flame fest
 
My mom never gave a shit about my drug useage and alcoholism, and it fucked me up real good in the long run :/

Oh really...like all the times i was in extreme pain and my moms had a script and threw me a few pills to feel better? dont say shit about my moms yo. opiates aint the devil. they may fuck up your brain chemistry and weaken your immune system and addict your body. but -you cant act like givin em to someone is building their coffin for them. i been there n back. occasionaly use the ox.....and im still workin and livin my life like what. so dont knock it and dont knock a parent whose helpin their kid out...i have a friend whose dad has a bad back and sells his oxys to my friend cuz the friend also has a bad back. he aint a bad father....once your kids are grown and you are on the level with eachother, and have a understanding, i dont know how sharing can be wrong...i dont support a mom givin her 6 yr old son dope, but man theres a time and a place, i think its perfectly acceptable to give your kid a opiate knowing that they use em recreationally, if you also enjoy it, and the kid is grown....its called makin your own choices....:|
 
i was offered alcohol at like 14 by my pop, didn't care then and looking back i don't think it mattered. i don't drink often and i've never been hungover or too fitshaced to know what was going on.

when he found out i smoked he told me that he wished that i didn't but that it was my choice and he would be a hypocrite to tell me not to do what he did for years.

and when i finally admitted to smoking weed my junior year of hs, he lit up with me and told me 'old hippie stories'.



i think i am probably the only one of all my cousins that had that level of openness with a parent, and i'm probably the most self-controlled member of the family. i can definitely say that i drink way less than my older cousins...
 
My dad hooks me up with weed if i ask him. And vice versa.

I'll get it for him if his connects are dry.

But thats the only drug I've even gotten from him.

Opiates are touchy, because he had alotta friends become junkies and most are dead now.

But I do agree that "some opiates every SO OFTEN" - that's key.
You should have to ask him for some.
And he should know when to say "No" to you, incase he feels you are using too frequently.
 
hAha thanks for pointing oout the obvious. And since he let me keep them the fact that I stole them is obsolete.

He was saying how he was gonna tell me he got a script and told me if i ever had bad pains feel free to ask for 1.

Hell no, I love parents that are down with drugs in the family, whether it's just permitting their kids to use or actually giving them some.

But I've had a real opiate habit, and you haven't. Have one, and perhaps you'll change your opinion about parents allowing their kids to have opiates. Shrooms? Sure. Pot? Great! Opiates? No way, not if they're responsible.

not understanding how "personal responsibility" and "making your own choices" factors into this....so you had a real opiate habit..and apparently it was one of your parents that gave you some or why else would you be so bitter towards this idea....your experience aint what happens to everyone and it aint correct just cuz you say it...
 
i used to take cyclobenzaprine for a muscle spasm, its a muscle relaxant and wil only make u feel jelloish
 
My mom is cool and she lets me smoke and take natural drugs. But of course ive done more then most people and she has no clue. I hook up her boyfriend with pills all the time.
 
I've done harder opiates and I still think Norcos kick ass, there will always be a special place in my heart for the 10/325s. I love that shade of yellow. There's nothing wrong with a couple Norcos every now and then. I'd give my kid Norcos before I'd give him/her hard alcohol. But it's something I definitely wouldn't make a habit of, that's for damn sure. Rare treat, and there's no problem with taking pain pills for... pain, even if you do get a kick out of 'em.

You got a cool stepfather man, which is amazing. A lot of people strike out in the dad department, and most people strike out in the step dad department, so I'm happy for ya. Just make sure to respect the relationship, and it should be a long lasting, fulfulling one.

Oh, I'm definitely respecting our relaitionship with this. I mean, he siad if I need one every so often to ask, but I'm not even gonna do that. I won't even steal anymore either, I guess I was just exicted at the sight of a 60 bottle of Norcos..

By the way, I'm 18 ( think someone asked), bout to be 19 soon.
