Though it's always worth listening to something one doesn't usually listen to as one's doors of perception are open and prejudice is reduced.

I don't even enjoy gory stuff like Cannibal Corpse when straight. On mushrooms it would probably send me toward the darkestcorners of my mind. I'll have to retract my statement I made above (that listening to something one doesn't like could be interesting). To each their own.

Yeah I used to be a death metal nut. I might occaisonally listen to some metal or even death metal now, but when tripping? Fuck that. For mushrooms I seem to prefer more organic sounding stuff, acoustic guitar and bongos.

Pedra Branca are good mushroom tunes, like Shpongle but more out there and Organic.

nah metals mad shit when tripping. Especially the recent meshuggah albums. Mind melting riffs and insane tempo changes. I dont like my trips to be about rainbows and unicorns, which is what i get when i listen to boring techno. Mind fucks are the best

Tool are a great psychedelic metal band. I reckon Opeth would go sweet too. Never really got into Mehshuggah. Was more into Morbid Angel, Deicide, Cradle of Filth etc. Those days are long gone for me though. I still listen to Tool but that's about it. I prefer mind melting synth. If you think techno and dance music is boring you probably haven't heard the right stuff.

you name it ive heard it. Ive tried liking it but It just doesnt do it for me. Some dark drum n base is all good like Tech Itch, Devils Rejects, Gein and Counter Strike. I wanna amp when im tripping. Every trip is an adventure and i cant sit stil for long.

Cannibal Corpse is funny.

I know it sounds cliche, but I listen to Tool and Pink Floyd on trips. Tool, because of the rhythmic complexity and extreme self-analyzing that went into the music, and Pink Floyd because of the airiness of the guitar, and the phrasings Gilmour uses. I'm a guitarist, so I love it.

But I don't get much of a chance to listen. I'm always about.
