:O WTF ??!

btw don't make your a taste a rule...
For example I don't think Paul Oaekenfold is the Mozart of 21th century music, not even near.

Yeah, if anyone it would be Aphex Twin! =D

A great mood lift... I highly recomend it.

Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major
written by Johann Sebastian Bach

Philip Glass is amazing. His minimalist stuff is especially suited to psychedelics IMO.

on one acid trip i cracked a nang and my mate put on some classical music, the music was stimulating everything..my mind, the visuals and the trip..it was fucking amazing to say the least

to all the people who dont like classical music, why not ???

its never too late to start :D, its good stuff, enjoy the sounds !!!!

People who don't like classical music have never given it a chance due to preconceived notions. If you open up and let yourself really hear it, there's no way to not find it absolutely beautiful. You know, if it's worthwhile classical music at least.

Classical music is like anything other music w/tripping. The best music to play is music you know and love. If you know and love R&B, for instance, that would be the sound for you. Personally I find most electronic music quite boring, but there are parts of the Four Seasons that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end - when I hear those bits on tripping, its fucking ecstasy. But for someone who hasn't heard/doesn't like it, it does nothing. So there's your answer - if you like classical music, it could be amazing. If you don't, don't bother with it.

However, if you're keen on trying and want my recommendation, it would be Adagio for Strings by Barber. Or for non-classical, Teardrop by Massive Attack has to be one of the greatest trip-songs of all time.

Psychedellics and your Choice of music For Each

What are your favourite Bands, and artists to enjoy to while on a psychedellic, and which psychedellic do you enjoy while listening to that band.

Me i tend to forget to listen to music while i am on Shrooms ( the only "real"[insome peoples opionion] psychedellic i have done)

But i love the album Yes - Close to the edge, a bunch of beatles, hendrix, grateful dead, phish, shpongle, I remember listening to dark side of the moon on my first shroom trip, that album lasted 10 hours.

On my recent 8g shrooms trip i watch Tommy, The Who movie based off the album, it was very psychedellic, but i didn't have the sound up loud.
then afterward i went upstairs and lied in bed and kept saying, "i'll listen to music later" i never did though, i couldn't be bothered to get up i was tripping so hard, and i had my own music playing in my head, some pretty sick tunes my mind was hallucinating, i wish i could recognise notes easily then i could have probabally written it down with my own shroom music.

I would particularly like to know good Acid music, but i am sure its pretty similar to good shrooms music.

If I take a psychedelic I will listen to anything as long as its good but I prefer the stuff I listen to all the time which is mainly punk rock (Ramones, Mr. T Experience, Travoltas, The Clash, NOFX + more), doo wop and old rock 'n roll (Beach Boys, Del Vikings, Diamonds etc), irish folk (Chieftans, Clancy Bros, Dubliners). Also I listen to video game rpg soundtracks that I've played (FFVI-X, Xenogears + more) because I have found that the concept of a guilty pleasure does not exist when I'm on a psychedelic.

Haha, YES!

I'll listen to anything when i'm on psyches, but I do also love that video game music. BTW, you should check out The Black Mages if you like FF music. Other than that, shit like Slightly Stoopid, RHCP, 311, various psytrance shit, grunge music (STP, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, NOT Nirvana). I can't really stand grateful dead type shit. Knew this dipshit that would play that shit non-stop, never liked it in the first place, but now I just fucking can't stand it.

Pink Floyd is a great band for any type of psychedelic, but if you're looking for something unique... a great guy to listen to while on mushrooms is DJ Shadow. He incorporates a lot of different things into his music. And the entire show is geared towards the tripping audience member. Lights, pounding bass beats, and lots of smoke machines.

Another great person to listen to is Jimi Hendrix, who is really awesome while on LSD. One of the more introspective trips... it kind of made me realize how my dad and some of his friends cried when musicians from their time died. You almost feel like Hendrix is singing/playing only to YOU.

All this talk about psychedelics has got me thinking... hehe.

I go for the music (only going to things that have music I enjoy) but if I'm offered sex (that I want) or drugs that interest me then I'll partake in them. It's just a possible added benefit.

Gotta be psy-trance for me. Try UMFM's HBR1 or Chromanova. Made for tripping on a weekend night especially.

On most psychedelics I prefer to listen to Bjork, Tool, Medeski Martin & Wood, Shpongle, Aphex Twin, and any trance-friendly music. But on MDMA I prefer to hear nasty, dirty drum-n-bass, until after the peak when Aphex Twin or Bjork help me come back down.

Shrooms, though, are in a separate category. They told me they don't like much music, unless it's tribal, organic stuff, that isn't too complex. Very "back to the essence" music is what they prefer. That or silence.
