I voted for a little bit of both. I would never go to a festival for just drugs since i can get drugs anywhere, even if im just chillen at home which im sure all of you can too. It seems bizarre to me too that your friend would spend 90 bucks when he could spend that on the drugs hes going there to enjoy.
 
it is both, good music enhances the drugs and vice versa, the right dosing, the right music, the right vibe....it is just fucking spiritual. :D
 
I really don't like techno that much but the awesome atmosphere, laid back people, beautiful ladies, and of course the X all make up for it. So, I go for the people and the drugs.

I go to outdoor hippy festival things like the oregon country fair though for the music.
 
well, depends on the situation. If its just a night club, then almost definately the drugs. I mean, obviously the music, atmosphere, people etc is what makes me go to a club instead of just taking my drugs at home. But I rarely use drugs (these days lol) so now, if i go out clubbing, yeh, i wanna get high, otherwise I honestly would not bother. I'm way to jaded in the scene to handle it straight (7 yrs on lol). THough ive had my moments of 'doing it straight' and really getting off on a night out without ANY (read no alc either) substance. And dancing my arse off.

Umm, festivals a different matter. The big festivals I DEFINATELY go for the music, camping, atmosphere, escape from city, etc etc etc. *IF* i do take drugs at festivals its gonna be acid, mushies, etc. Not speed or E.

Umm.. sex, well, I've never been a pick-up type of person. Im pretty emotional, and I only do the long-term thing. SO thats never really been in mind, though of course, at a festival, I'd never rule out meeting someone awesome. prob not at a club though, sounds hipocrytical, but these days, I don't think I wanna get attached to someone getting into the whole club thing, I don't need that back in my life again.
 
It depends on the party really. 9 times out of 10, going for the music is my primary interest. Drugs and sex can play a role in it, but are not the corner stone of the night. This tends to be if its a DJ I really want to see, or just a genre of music I really like.

Now and then, that 1 out of 10 time - its more about 'the party' then 'the music'. For me, this would be something like Pride events, Circuit parties, etc. The music ends up becomming a background to the rest of the night, and not the focus of it.

For the '9 out of 10' times - I can go sober and still fully enjoy myself. Drugs are just an added bonus. For those other parties, I pretty much /need/ the drugs to enjoy myself, which is why I goto them far less often.
 
For me it all started off being about the music. Naturally it progressed into me wanting to try drugs.

When I go to festivals I go for the music but would not go without taking drugs to enhance the experience. I never drink at these events bar maybe one or two before I take any drugs. Sex never crosses my mind when I'm high without booze. I get too caught up in the music and atmosphere and normally create my own little universe.

If I'm clubbing sometimes I'll look to pick up if I've been boozing aswell as taking drugs. The booze kind of changes my whole mind set.
 
I really like the music, listen to it constantly. I liked it before I had ever taken any drugs. I wonder if people who like the music are more likely than others to like the drugs, and vice versa.
 
i pretty much only do drugs at bigger events now, basicly because its something im really looking foward to (for the music) and i want it to be even more special. best of everything kinda.
 
shit man if im goin to a concert its for the damn music, im not goin to any shitty concert for the drugs. for example last summer i saw megadeth, it was for them man. sure i brought some weed and got blazed on the way there, and the nthere, but it was for the fuckin music man. drugs are just an enhancer.
 
Voted a bit of both. Without the music the festival would be nothing, without the drugs it wouldnt be as exciting or fun, simply because people would still have their inhibitions firmly in place. You need the chicks there or it would just be a bunch of dudes, plus chicks look really attractive when im rolling.
 
its a mixture of both... if were just for the drugs, you'd just stay home and take drugs there. The music makes the drugs better, and the drugs make the music better. They compliment each other and make any festival or event more powerful.
