When I used to get high with my mom we would have to hide it from my step dad, but we would be watching tv late at night and it seemed like the volume kept getting louder and louder. When we woke up in the morning and turned the tv on I have no idea how we heard anything b/c it was down almost all the way.

I usually listen to 2 albums: Vintage Chill and Afterdark London. They're kind of a low key techno jazz thing. Kinda hard to describe but very relaxing and it's good for the lazy stoner.

No, I hate having anything louder than my voice. I hate straining to talk to people, and I like to talk when I'm high. Good background music like sublime or something is nice though.

Background music is one thing, but surely you sometimes enjoy just listening to music without talking. For this, turning it up very loud makes it a much more engrossing experience. If you've never gotten high and listened to loud music with good bass, you're missing out.

Yes, I do as a matter of fact. I'm actually blasting Bob Dylan's song "Hurricane" through my headphones right now.

Awesome song no matter what, but with good weed + 90mgs of Adderall going through me it's giving me chills down my spine haha

codeine - frigid stars lp
my bloody valentine
explosions in the sky, do make say think, mogwai, etc.
portishead, massive attack, etc.
squarepusher, boards of canada, prefuse 73, etc.

basically those kinds of music, i like to have something you can play on low volume, no lyrics or if there are they sorta roll off you and become part of the sound...not aggressive or dominating, so it lets you dream...

props on all that jazz! but heres something i think will be a little better then all the rest listed

axis:bold as love by jimi hendrix especially the last song on the album (bold as love, dont forget to listen to the very VERY end!)

Elliot Smith (pitseleh,) Don Mclean (bye bye miss american pie,) The Beatles (all of the white album,) The Shins (Both of their most recent albums,) The Thrills (Big Sur and Santa Cruz,) Everclear (Album:So much for the afterglow,) Wyclef Jean (If I were president and Gone til noverber,) Ja Rule and Claudette Ortiz (Get it started and with Claudette Oritz the stuff she's done with Wyclef Jean,) Allison Krauss (Anything she's done her voice is great,) Queen (Again anything by them,) DJ Inphinity (Gimme gimme & I'm in heaven & if you really love me,) The Streets (the irony of it all,) Coltrane, Ray Charles, John Mayer, the list goes on I've actually given it quite a bit of thought.

Good thread

I find music to be very unenjoyable when on opiates. Unless, of course... it's classical.

I find even fast rock music to be almost orgasmic on opiates, much more so then even when i'm on massive amounts of e...

ya know i never noticed this before but ive been sitting here all day with my poppy tea listening to music quite a bit louder than usual, its awesome.

when i'm stoned, i love loud music because it gives me this insane urge to sing along, and the louder it is, the less likely anyone (myself included) is to hear my awful singing.

ecstasy and acid also make for cranking up certain songs. but i think those are really the only drugs that make music more appealing, or appealing at all.
