Misc Drug with a high similar to alcohol

Hello, this would be my first thread in the forum after the introductions.

I've always wondered whether there is a drug which gives a alcohol like high, so have you guys come across any?

Hey reyqaz,

Alcohol has effects on the GABA receptors in your brain so any other drug that acts on them may produce a similar high. The most commonly associated chemicals are benzodiazepines (you might have heard of brand name Vallium?) which also effect GABA levels and are actually used to help alcoholics detox.

That being said the purpose of the Other Drugs forum is harm reduction. Asking a basic question like this isn't really appropriate for it so I'm going to close this thread now. The OD Guidelines might give you a better idea of what is and isn't acceptable here.
