I love it.

I do it every three - six weeks, 250 - 500 mg. Then, I stop.

Take any drug to the point of intoxication, three times a day, for weeks and weeks at a time, and you're gonna have problems.

Weed is used by cancer patients more for the hunger-producing effects rather than pain-reduction quality. Even if they did legalize medicinal MJ, it wouldn't replace the normal pain-killers.
 
the thing is drugs effect everyone differently i guess. I know a fair few people who will take pills or acid or speed or something alot but wont touch weed because it makes them paranoid or whatever. Dont really agree with it, but hey, it must be true for them if there not doing it. still annoys me though because no matter what drugs i do now, i'll always be a stoner at heart...haha
but it pisses me off when they are like "oh god no, not weed. wheres the meth at" but at the same time, me saying that is kind of contradicting when you look at their view. so maybe i'll shutup :)
 
Drug snobs are around. I dislike Meth abusers. But people who use Meth responsibly are ok in my book.

I'm sure if we all look deep enough we can find that we all havve some sort of prejudice regarding one substance or another.

It sucks, but its true.

True, I know a girl who will smoke heroin but won't touch Oxycontin with a ten-foot poll because it's "so dangerous" 8) I was ready to argue but she then told me that a close friend of hers OD'ed on OC, so I figured it best to just let it be.

The worst drug-snobs, hands down, are potheads.

Probably has to do with their being so many of them, that they act towards other drugs just like the general public does with all drugs. Really, in some cases, the general public doesn't mind marijuana.

I dont hate on any particular chemical. Whatever floats your boat.

I smoke weed, and am probably safely in that group of people TheodoreRoosevelt described above. Whenever someone is using coke right next to me i do get aprehensive and a little offended. What the drug users probably dont understand is that its nothing personal im just thinking;

"Fuck that stuff seems really good. I have enough trouble supporting my weed habbit. I really dont need a tiny voice in my head telling me to drop $xxx on some white powder in my life right now."

now if you want snobs, find some RC connesseurs.

My amine group is so much more electronegative than yours :p
 
I always used to get a laugh when I would sniff a little smack around my old hardcore crack head friends(or fiends :) )

They would give me this disgusted look and try and tell me how bad the shit is.........then go and smoke rocks or beg and plead for rock hit from me....

And yeah. I hang out w/a lot of hardcore psychonauts who look down on "hard drug" users like no other. Now, I happen to be a (largely former) aficionado of some very serious hard drugs, so they usually get a big "oh really" from me and then shut the hell up.

I do, however, have a very, very big beef with coke/crack at festivals. Not an elitist thing. Go smoke all the rocks you want, just don't bring it to a scene that isn't made for it. Those of you who were anywhere near family camping at a certain east coast festival this year will know what I'm talking about. As far as anything else goes, I couldn't care less. I don't judge. (But I hate drunks and cokeheads; junkies and psychonauts FTW ... j/k ... sort of ... ;) )

I don't even like kids to see me smoking a cigarette...you mean you had some low lifes sucking on stems in front of them? That is too low class for words.

It's pretty easy to be discreet about it, too, are people so desperate that they can't duck behind a bush or in a porta potty or something?

Yep, they were slingin' it and smokin' it out in the open right near family camping.

I have seen sooooooo much crack, coke & dope at festies recently, it's disgusting. Dope I can sort of understand, there's a bigger overlap between the junkie and hippie drug subcultures than a lot of people think, and people tend to be discrete about it, just do their shit in the privacy of their own tent and go about their day. If you're strung out to the gills it's a necessity, and I don't really care. Far too much of the cocaine usage gets done by people who really aren't a part of the scene to begin with. And as far as crack goes I'm just stumped on how and why it's such a big problem, but it is.

maybe this is all just some kind of rationalization. A person can who believs other drugs are bad and evil will feel the drug they use isnt so bad. makes them perhaps feel better about the shit they put in thier body we all might need to do that to get to dependence.

I know. It really is adorable. FYI, this girl is a different friend than the girl I quoted in the OP.

I totally agree with the person who said potheads are the biggest drugs snobs. I think it's mainly cuz their drug is basically seen as "harmless" by the general public. I also think it makes them feel better about doing an illegal drug when they can compare it to other "hard" drugs. I often hear them saying "it's just pot. It's not like it's heroin or anything."

Which is true in a way. My boyfriend and I had an argument about smoking weed daily vs. using an opiate daily. He claims that it's ok to be a daily pot smoker but not ok to be a daily opiate user because you don't NEED pot like you NEED opiates. Kinda true I guess.

Fuck it. No way. The only way to measure it that's worth anything is in terms of either health, or functionality, and in either way, a lot of opiate users could stand up to a lot of potheads, if you're judging in terms of how we relate to straight society. True, if you're strung out on opiates, you're constantly thinking about where your next fix is coming from, but a lot of potheads I know put a positively inordinate amount of time & thought into where their next bag of ganja is coming from. So whatever. It's all elitism. You're on suboxone, correct? As far as I'm concerned that's about as much of a problem as being on an anti-depressant, and hardly qualifies as "daily opiate use" ... long term problems ... let's see ... constipation? mydriasis? Umm .... you'd be hard pressed to think of more ... taking your little orange pill q.d. is a lot more adaptive that lighting up a joint. Shows you're trying to move forward w/things.
