Drug Sabbatical Support & Appreciation Thread

Just finished a forced sabbatical (almost 3 months), not because I really forced myself into this but more because I moved to a different city and found I could not find much of anything.

Definitely not the best time to be abstaining though. The stress of moving almost 2000kms away, plus stress with my job and my partner being forced to quit his job was a bit too much. Not to mention the various family emergencies I had over Christmas and New Years. :\ Part of the reason I moved away was to slow down on the weekends, but now I realise that we do not want to stop completely just yet.

So yes I don't recommend doing it if you have too much stress going on in your life, you'll only be forced to drink 3 bottles of champagne in an hour and reminisce over the old times. I won't be doing it every weekend again though and maybe in a few months I'll try it again. It definitely did not feel as good as when I'd done it in previous times.

Papua New Guinea is in a little village in Herefordshire, don't you know old chap?;)
Anyway all and sundry can join in the drug sabbatical thread, even if they come from Angola and just want to chop off your hands for a laugh.:)

Is anyone still on their sabbatical, or is everyone on a sabbatical from their sabbaticals?

Still on mine though I think that's more of a permanent thing than an actual sabbatical now. I'm off my (unintentional) drug sabbatical though :D

All good news, snolls!! :)

I had a big "discussion" with my missus last night (well, more of a masive argument!) so hit the red wine and had a marlie light. Which is a bit disappointing. However I managed to steer clear of the crack, smack and donk, so all is not lost. ;)

5 days without as much as a beer or a cig, pretty good for me, drinking wouldn't be a problem if i could do it in moderation.

Good stuff, you attempting to stay off the booze n cigs or is it just incidental? Moderation is the hardest fucking thing.

binge>purge>binge>purge i stop doing stuff that's harming me for as long as i can then get stupid.

I'm nearing three full months sober now. 8o

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, my illness is showing small signs of recovery so hopefully in a few weeks I can stop all this nonsense and normal service can be resumed. I'm glad to have a break but this is quite long enough to have returned to baseline and fixed any damage, its like I've been in for a service and its time to get back on the road. =D

The Spades retox (Copywright TheKid) and subsequent greeting about comedowns / feeling shite coming to a message board near you soon.
