Drug-related tattoos

Finally went and got my tat done this morning... the molecular structure of methamphetamine on my wrist. I'm pleased with it and have no regrets. When the tattoo was finished, a guy waiting in the parlour asked what it meant and I told him (blatant as always), and he just laughed and said "that's bold of you!". ;)

cough chemical structure tattoos are quite lame especially if you know jack shit about chemistry

*cough* Good thing I have a reasonable knowledge of chemistry and the synthesis of methamphetamine...

Sorry, but I have no idea what you're talking about. My nickname "Sweet P" is a pun, cos high quality crystal meth is commonly known on the streets of New Zealand as "P" - for Pure. And all my previous (and probably future) partners are totally immersed in the local drug scene, so I'm sure they'd understand the meaning.

I think getting a drug related tat is a very very bad idea. I mean come'on guys.

Sweet P - i can't believe you got that tat on your arm like that, and out of all the substances you pick one of the worst and most destructive.. Your going to have to wear long sleeves everyday now to cover that up if you plan on getting a job or go looking for one.. i think you will regret getting that tat one day.

^ I've got no regrets about getting mine done. Drugs have been a huge part of my life for years, and, well, I don't really care what people think of me. I also don't plan on getting a job, so that's not something I need to be concerned about. :)

As far as drug tattoos go. When talking about 'hard drugs' that are addictive and un-righteous, I can understand tattoos that people get that are more along the lines of like 'gettin clean'. kinda like that one dude on jackass (Brandon Novak) that got a tattoo that read "No More Fucking Heroin". something that will help him rather then hold him down. Another cool one i saw on someone along time ago was this spoon with like a grim-reaper lookin thing coming out of the spoon. (referring to Heroin)

No offense, but unless you have some really cool stylized molecule design, just a straight molecule looks bland and stupid. Why would you want that tattoo?
I'm talking purely from an aesthetic point of view. I understand the drug has a huge impact on your life and the reasons why you'd have something drug related done. "Sweet P" with cool colors and a cool font would be totally understandable.
Maybe you should add design and colors to your tattoo? That's just me though.
I know I wouldn't want a blow up picture of a molecule tattooed on me, I'd feel mad wonky explaining it. Then again, I think even molecules as avatars are lame. w/e

I liked the idea of the serotonin molecule, but I was thinking more very small and behind my ear...

Right. I'm planning on getting my first tattoo very soon, and was planning on getting a tattoo of a molecule of a substance, MDMA. It was my first enlightening drug experience, and have had a long history with this drug.

I feel that it would make a very nice tattoo especially given the significance of the chemical in my life.

The tattoo will be around 2 inches long, toward the top of my chest (so that it can be hidden in job interviews etc, but easy to show people if I'm wearing a T-Shirt).

I've seen a lot of people getting their favourite nightclub logo as a tattoo many times, but have seen very few people getting molecules.

I'm just wondering whether it is tacky to get such a tattoo done. There will be no identifiable data such as the chemical name near the tattoo, just the molecule. I feel that given that the tattoo will not be complex, and this will be my first one, so will serve to be a good introduction to getting tattoos (pain determination etc.).

I got an infinity symbol tattoo while under the influence of lsd
guess that doesn't count, but I relate infinity to psychedelics in nearly all my trips/experiences, they are synonymous to me
