Drug needed to reduce social anxiety/shyness

SSRIs = removed from gene pool via sexual side effects

fuck that, ssris are worse than placebo imo

use occasional stimulants or opiates

I'm debating on trying to get a script to time release adderall.

I could lie and try to get it perscribed for an ADD I don't have, because I find that adderall helps my social anxiety a ton.

I haven't tried this myself, but what about testosterone replacement therapy patches or gel?(Such as Androgel), they're supposed to increase confidence and wellbeing. Anybody got any experiences with this, specifically in regard to shyness?

hmm ;) doesn't sound too good.. would have the same downsides as steroids then probably.. i.e. your balls shrinking cause they don't need to produce as much testosterone anymore.

I think it's only with very high doses you get the cobbler shrinkage. The transdermal gel's being increasingly prescribed to men with "the male menopause" and also to women to with low libido, as well as the improvement in their sex life they all report feelings of confidence, power, and anti-depressant effects. Perfect effects for social anxiety i would have thought.

yeah.. the last antidepressant i was on was wellbutrin.. personally, i think it rocks.. the other SSRIs killed my sexuality.. after years of being on them, i ended up with very little sexual desire, and a lot of the time even when i am aroused mentally, my body just doesn't respond.. grr.. hate those fucking things..

anyways, ghb will work, but if you're taking it for anxiety and shyness, you'll probably find it difficult to control your intake.. and while xyrem is only indicated for narcolepsy there are many people who are prescribed it "off-label" for other disorders.. it does come from a central pharmacy and your doc does have to apply to that pharmacy to get it released to you, but other than that, it's the same as any other schedule iii drug..

the dose for narcolepsy must be higher than the one taken for anxiety reduction though? as the narcolepsy dose has the intent of putting somebody to sleep..

I wouldn't be able to go to my doc pretending i cant sleep.. he would so easily see through me. Im a bad liar :P

to get an "off-label" xyrem prescription you'd have to have a very open-minded doctor *and* convince him none of the other options were working or going to work.. it's best not to lie to your doctor as that will result in reducing your chance of treating your disorder.. doctors do have some discretionary power in choosing medications to treat their patients. there are lots of kids getting prescribed SSRIs even though they're all indicated as being for adults. that's more dangerous than "off-label" xyrem in my opinion.

and yes, you would take considerably less, probably taking three times a day 1/3 of the dose prescribed once a night for narcolepsy. not enough to get you stoned or sleepy and infrequently enough to avoid serious dopamine rebound. you would probably want to take a day off per week (a day you don't have to deal with social or anxiety producing situations) to maximize the benefits without having to increase your dosage..

i would just use it for parties and such stuff in that case anyway..perhaps dates and such too as long as it's not obvious. dont consider any need for all day usage.. Its not that I can't cope with my situation , but sometimes it's just pretty much in the way.. damn i remember that when i was younger i was always so relaxed and vivid.. now im all laid back and dull (not by choice though).

and serzone which almost felt like i was tripping)..
So I'm not the only one... I found that when I would take Serzone, it did in fact produce an almost LSD like state. Same pretrip anxiety, some of the same sensations. I had a freind that would take several times the recommmended dosage and seemed to get a pretty decent trip off of it. I've also heard that people take serzone and smoke pot get some LSD like effects. I wonder why this is, and if many others have experienced the same thing? Anyone?
