Charles Ferdinand
Bluelighter
Hi!
As many of you know (I hope (= ) I live in Mexico.
Right know the government is in permanent war with the drug cartels and dealers.
Every day people get shot and murdered, attacks with grenades, the police buying more automatic arms, etc.
U.S. programs like D.A.R.E.among others are being implemented, in Baja (with great success official numbers say), and Sonora (my state), and I don't know what other states.
The AFI (=FBI) and the Federal Police have merged into the Federal Police. The Army and Navy are deployed with the sole purpose of fighting drug cartels. They silently patrol the poor neighbourhoods in my city in the night.
At least I feel safe.
My dad, works in the government, in charge of the drug addictions program. He's old school, and won't ever mention "harm reduction" which I try to practice and believe in. Currently I'm seeing a Psichryatic which (thank God) has me on Lyrica, Clonazepam, Diazepam and Wellbutin. He's my 5th psichrytist, I'm starting t feel my dad wants off the drugs out of my sheer will power (going cold turkey). He's also a retired General. I'm not depressed, but my anxiety has got me into this. Including Bluelight, and I don't regret it.
I live in a highly conservative society, no matter what advances we make socially, politically or in the healthcare area (Free meds and insurace for everyone).
How to introduce new concepts into a highly conservative society, who only wants drugs to magically disappear one day?
It's even embarrasing to say that I see a psichyatrist, although it shouldn't be. I always say it's just a therapist for anger management or something.
Mexico produces drugs americans and canadians consume, and vice versa, which is no secrets and no one has the blame (maybe the consumers like me).
The change starts everywhere, and I feeel isolated.
Regards.
