I decided to take another look at this with a view to how it is actually made.

I came up with the following patent: WO2015151490.

If you see reference example 1 that takes you to an ester that undergoes saponification and decarboxylation.

There are various methods for which an aromatic can be converted into a benzaldehyde. Gattermann–Koch reaction for example.

Do to the fact I can't download from the Swiss Target Prediction anymore I can no longer upload pictures of Molecules for the time being. Hopefully I can figure out a way to post more images in the future.
