Been clean for around 90 days now; longest I've been clean over the last 3-4 years.

Anyway, went to rehab and started my Subox treatment there; started out at 24/MG. I dropped to 16/MG after spending 2 weeks in a detox and left there on 16/MG daily.

Since then I was using 16/MG/day and feeling great my first month or so clean (yes, they call it the purple cloud). Even throughout my 2nd and most of 3rd I've felt fine and have had little to no urge to use.

Last time I met w/ the doc I mentioned to him 16/day has been doing fine but there are days that go by where I may just get away w/ 8MG and feel fine. We decided to drop down to 12/MG/day about a week or so ago and since then I've been feeling like shit. I am still prescribed the 16/MG/day but he left it up to me to make the drop to 12/MG and now I am starting to think I should stick w/ 16/MG.

Anyone else have this problem dropping such a low dose? Or is it just cause it's been roughly 3 months and the Subox is starting not to have the same feel it once did?

Got bad today where I almost considered using but came home and went to bed instead. Luckily I feel asleep quick and now just woke up and took 8MG and trying to feel "better".

You are likely going through withdrawal.. since the option to use is still not there then I would give it two weeks to a month.. IMO you will likely stabilize and feel much better by then.. I think its much better to get to the lowest dose possible as I think your life will improve.

sure, there are always a chance of slight withdrawals but didnt think it would happen here. ive always used Subox when using, so I familiar w/ dosing, usage, etc. even when in rehab and dropped the original 8MG after just a few weeks I felt fine. been on this 16MG dose for 2.5 months, so there is that chance the body was getting used to that. ill try to ride out this 12MG for another week but if using comes to mind I am going back to 16MG.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, the longer you take suboxone the longer you will have to endure withdrawal. Taking it for 2.5 months will definitely give you withdrawal. To get truly clean you have to give it all up. Not that I can talk, had a relapse myself and am taking suboxone I got from a connect. It will run out though, and I'll have to go through hell once again.

Take your time. I was on subs for a over a year. Went from 16-8-4-2-1-.5mg in that course of time, it was a good taper and not painful, although jumping off was not my choice I was pretty much forced into it which is another matter. When it was time to decrease dosage, I never tried going down more than half a dose, which is what you're doing, and that's good. In my case, if it wasn't time yet to taper, I could tell if the ill effects lasted longer than 4-5 days. If that was the case, I would go back up and try again in another month. Take it easy on yourself. It's good to get lower, but you don't have to go down too fast. Maybe you need to be on 16mg another month, or 2, or 3. I'm with the other poster, def. try to taper when you can, because you don't want to be on the shit forever, but be patient with yourself too. An opiate habit that took years to get to the place it did isn't going to just go away after a couple months of subs and yes, the w/ds are horrible but there are ways to help with that when you get to that point, with OTC and legal drugs, although probably not appropriate to talk about in this thread. The point is, don't worry. If you're not ready yet, from my experience you will get there eventually.

Friend called today to split 2Gs. Thankfully these Subox were working and I felt fine today and was able to say no. Kinda fucked up he came to me asking but whatever. He actually wanted me to spot him cash, too. That's prob why he asked me. I'm just happy I can say no. If that was me 4 months ago I'd be all over that.

stick with the 16mg as long as you can.
find happiness and a new life without worrying about a drug that can change your life.
I'm also on 16 and it works!
dont mess w winning formula.

(my thoughts).

Suboxone gets an unfair rep in my opinion. It's not perfect but it sure beats the fuck out of evil fucking Methadone.
Doctors struggle with bupe because the dosage that will hold one addict at the same opiate dose often will not with someone else. If u need 16mg then stick with it. It's very individual the sub dosage...
Most g+ a day smackies I've met don't need more than 8mg. Some and allot as low as 1mg -6mg.

Dropping from 8mg- 6-4-2mg is usually the hardest. 6-4-2mg is usually the hardest. I've never really found it even noticeable until 2mg- 0.

That's me though. Everyone's different
