DRIVING ON DRUGS

No matter what you say soviet if you do enough k you can't drive..period end of story. If you are on the expressway and you snort enough you will end up in the k-hole and unable to drive.
I'm not saying it's easy to drive in a K-hole when you don't know what time or dimension you're in and the cars in the on-coming lane look like travelling 10 feet per frame of vision (aka they look like they're going REALLY REALLY slow and you're reacting about 30 seconds behind everything).. but it's been done.
I'll give you the top 3 most difficult driving experiences of my life, though:
Combo of 2C-T-2 and MDMA.. I was hallucinating so hard I couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead of me. I was actually driving really well, I just couldn't tell what the fuck I was looking at. It was night, but there was no true blackness, I could see hallucinations in the air. I remember staring ahead and seeing jungles and tiger stripes and such.
Really potent Psilocybes... I have no idea. I just remember dinosaurs along the road smiling at me and time was dripping out of the sky. At some point my girlfriend made this remarkable observation... people were honking and flashing their lights at me because I was doing 40 in a 55. I was afraid to go any faster because one second the cars would look like they were 50 feet away, the next second I thought I was tailgating them. I figured if I went any faster I'd end up ramming someone.
Heroin... this doesn't actually apply to a single experience. Minus 4 other exceptions in my drug using career, I have NEVER had to stop a car once driving because I was too fucked up. But I have had several consistent experiences with heroin where I just could not do anything to keep my eyes open or keep them from crossing and I'd have to stop because it just became absolutely impossible to drive, let alone stay on the road.
What were the other 4 times?
Twice simply getting too stoned.. I was driving way under the speed limit and couldn't concentrate.
MDA... my jaw was chattering so hard that it was completely blurring my vision since I was also hallucinating. The road began to look like a lazer light show and everything was vibrating and finally I couldn't take it anymore.
And finally some combination including MDMA, PCP, LSD, pot and probably some other drugs that I forgot I took.
Oh, and I wrecked my car one early morning after taking PMA or something the night before. I fell asleep behind the wheel.
Which also brings up a good point... there is nothing more difficult to drive on than sleep deprivation. I have maybe hit 3 curbs driving fucked up. I have nearly died maybe 30 times driving on no sleep, not drug-related. I have dozed off and ended up in on-coming traffic, hit medians, run completely off roads, etc. Again, SLEEP DEPRIVATION IS WORSE THAN ANY DRUG WHEN IT COMES TO DRIVING.

I've driven on high doses of most drugs and I agree with soviet that sleep deprivation is the worst(do to a long weekend of drug binging of course). I also think that alcohol is very dangerous. I've driven on high doses of high quality lsd(pyramids if anyone tried them :) , up to a quarter of good shrooms, k , coke, heroin, high doses of mdma, mda.
As far as my heroin experience, I tried it for my first time and was all fucked up realizin I had to drive home and it wasn't really a problem even though I was noddin off left and right b4 I left to drive home. Noddin off due to sleep diprivation is much worse than noddin off on a drug. You can control noddin off on drugs mostly but cant stop from noddin off from fallin asleep.
When I have do drive on drugs my concentration is a lot better and I am never too distracted to make it dangerous.peace

I would have to say the hardest thing I have ever driven on would be a hefty dose of mushrooms. The world was jumping in 20 foot frames and I couldn't see more than 40 feet into the distance, so it wasn't real safe. On lower doses I am just fine, it is actually fun. The lights are so much prettier in the city and it feels like you are in a game. I get the same effect with opiates. It just feels good to drive.
I really hate driving on weed, although it can be done. Like everyone else says, I just get real lost and can't remember where I am. I don't think my actual driving is bad, except when I suddenly hit the brakes because my turn came up waaaay to fast.
DXM is kind of rough, but it can be managed. It's kind of like driving with alcohol in your system, you just need to be aware of what's going on and of the fact that you are NOT sober. That said, I really hope my days of drinking and driving are over. That combination is just sure to lead to trouble at one point or another.
E doesn't really disrupt my driving, other than when the sun flashes into my eyes and blinds me. I actually spent a whole early morning roll driving my friends around and it was incredibly fun. However, driving home after a night of dancing and no sleep when I am absolutely exhausted just sucks. Getting those weird hallucinatory visions of the road ahead whilst fighting to stay awake can be more disorienting than anything else. And this goes for any sleep deprivation.

some of the attitudes in here are astonishing! it's not safe or acceptable to drive on any form of drugs. how can anyone realistically claim that ketamine doesn't impair your driving? it's hard enough *walking* on K, let alone steering 1.5ton of metal at 50mph. the same goes for other drugs; alcohol, pot, MDMA, acid, mushrooms, DXM, hallucinogens, whatever... the fact is that these chemicals impair your judgement and slow your responses. therefore your ability to drive SAFELY is severely reduced by being under the influence. i wouldn't give a fuck if you were driving around a race track with no other cars, no pedestrians or cyclists around. But the fact of the matter is that on the roads there are not just cars. unpredictable things happen and if you're drug fucked and you can't respond to unexpected events (cat runs across road, kid steps onto street etc) the consequences for you, and more importantly for others, can be deadly.
my father (a cyclist) was killed last year when he was hit by a young woman driving on MDMA and Meth (here's the threadin Aus social). think about how that must be affecting her. think about how it's affecting my family. driving on drugs is stupid, dangerous and almost always unnecessary.
DQ.

wasnt there a huge ass thread on this before?
i was reading in MixMag that E is the worst drug to drive on and Coke actuly makes your reaction time better, altho everyone is different

Just because I personally do something does not mean that I at all think of it as either safe or acceptable. And I totally don't condone other people doing a lot of the same things I do myself. I like to compare myself to the dad in the Barenstein Bears series.. he did everything the wrong way to set an example as why his kids shouldn't be like him.

I did not say it didn't impair your driving. I just said it was possible to drive in a K-hole.

That's not neccessarily true. Not all of those drugs slow your responses or neccessarily even impair your judgement. I can think and move about 10 times faster on LSD than I ever could sober. I used to be able to count the number of cars coming in the opposite lane out of my peripheral vision on acid without even trying. It basically kicked my brain into 6th gear.
You also have to remember that some people's brains don't function properly to begin with and require drugs to get them working correctly.
Overall, yes, I do agree with you. It is almost always unsafe to drive on drugs, most of them do impair the users judgement and/or reaction times. But there are also exceptions. Some people use drugs and/or alcohol so often that when they're high or drunk is the only time they act normal.

I really hate to do this to you, but I have to tell you the truth.
Cyclist are annoying fuckers completely devoid of common sense. Instead of using bike paths and other areas where they aren't obstructing traffic, they like to get right in the middle of it, riding inches between gravel and cars. Often if there are bike paths by a road, they will choose to ride in the road anyways. As a drive, I understand how much of a hazzard cyclists represent. I've nearly killed at least a dozen of them in the past few years as they always seem to be on busy roads where cars are travelling fast and don't understand that people in automobiles don't have a lot of space to swerve out of their way (they love to get partially in the lanes that drivers use) because we'll hit other cars.
Here's what happened to your dad. He was wearing some gay ass neon spandex and a stupid looking helmet. For some reason, he thought he looked very cool and his ego was inflated that day. Because his ego was so big, he decided to ride his bike way into a lane of traffic. As this lady was coming around a turn, there was no way she could have seen your dad, even though he was wearing neon purple and pink and yellow, because the trees and kangeroos were blocking her sight. All of the sudden your dad was plowed into the woman's grill, totally destroying the front end of her car and getting blood everywhere.
I bet you never thought about the fact that the poor lady's insurance probably doesn't cover damage caused by human collisions. And I bet you never considered that this lady probably had to pay a few hard earned bucks taking her car to the car wash to get the blood out when she could have spent that money on some more ecstasy or another bag of meth or something.
Not to mention the lady is probably traumatized now all because your dad couldn't use a frikkin' bike path or sidewalk or something.
If you ride a bike and take it out where there are cars, you aren't only asking to be hit, you deserve it.

Hey, no one is saying it's SAFE to drive under the influance, but it's kinda a nessacary evil .. I'm sure that most people here would never WANT to drive on drugs, because we all fear that you would get an an accident and wreck your car, or yourself, or you could get arrested .. still, when the police make the club shutdown at 3am and you just necked that pill an hour ago - what do you do? You're a raver and you spent that last cash on a roll, you live 30 mintues away and have no friends that are willing to drive you home - what do you do?
Also, was your father on the sidewalk or in the street? I know you're supposed to ride your bike in the street but it's not like we all havent had to slam on our breaks to avoid hitting these god damn people that ride IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS IF THEY WERE A CAR! Hey, when you can do the speedlimit on your bike then I will share MY ROAD with you, but if you're holding up traffic then move your god damn ass! Ya know what else I hate? When you have "the wife" and "the husband" riding their bikes SIDE BY SIDE in THE ROAD taking up THE ENTIRE GOD DAMN COCKSUCKING LANE! One time these two men (who were certinly looking pretty in their dainty little spandex outfits) were taking up two lanes, so I started honking and they still wouldnt move.. finally passed them and yelled "why the fuck dont you move out of the fucking road?" .. the one guy responded "bikes are supposed to be rode in the street" .. at the time I could only throw a handfull of pennies at them, which I will admit did little damage.. I now carry a 2' piece of chain so I can "spoke" the next bike rider that feels like owning the entire god damn road for their afternoon joy ride...
Oh yeah, we DID have this exact same thread before, and it headed the SAME DIRECTION as this one - a bunch of aussies bitching about how evil weare for driving fucked up...
[EDIT - re-opened at the request of a poster, however, if this turned in to a flame war it will be closed as fast as a biker rider flies into the drainage ditch after being slammed into with a semi!]

If you ever got you fat asre out of the car and onto a bike you might realise that cars destroy the planet and bikes are the resonsible way to get around. But you never think like that because you are too fucking stupid. Eat shit and die dickhead motherfucker.
Maybe bikes work in your liberal socialist European country where you are from, but in America we aren't just given what we have. Americans work to earn everything they have. Part of our economic system requires us to drive up to hundreds of miles to get from work to home because we have massive cities because we are a superpower nation that could crush your own. I'm sure you wouldn't understand, though.
