Couldn't have said it better myself. I just hope whatever you run into the next time you drive high is a telephone poll, not a person.

It's very funny to read this thread. It actually sounds just like a M.A.D.D. commercial that you would see on TV.
I think that the crux of this issue is that all of us think that we're God. Think about it; how do you think you're going to die? I personally think I'm either going to die saving the Universe from something (I'm going to die after I save it, duh!) or I'm going to go when I'm 130 whilst fucking a 21 year-old Hooters waitress/Playboy model, who loves me for who I am, not for my billions of dollars. But let's face it, EVERY SINGLE person on this planet is a Darwin Award just waiting to happen.
I hate to break it to all of you, but we're not. Regardless of what you feel about God, Buddha, etc., we're all very very small pieces of shit compared to this Universe we live in, and it could give a flying shit about what happens to us. And we're most definitely not God (if we were, I'd have a girlfriend right now, but I digress); we're little worthless pieces of carbon that happened to pieces themselves together in a specific way, so that we can THINK ourselves God.
So, driving on Ecstasy is like "floating on a hovercraft on a sea of cotton candy?" I can just see the accident right before it happens:
We were driving down the street, FuX0r3D out of our minds, when the new Underworld single came on. Right then, my best friend turned on the Air Conditioning! OH MY GOD! All I wanted to do was make out with her, so I leaned over to lick her nipple, when this street sweeper came out of NOWHERE! Unfortunately, she died, but I can feel my big toe on my remaining foot sometimes, if it's a good day. Maybe I should take Ecstasy again.

This whole thread makes me want to start a new thread (I think I will) called: What is the closest you have come to killing someone (or yourself) while driving under the influence? And the sad part? It's not going to make any damn difference whether or not the people that are going to drive under the influence do it or not. Well fuck you guys. You think that your life and your needs are more important than mine? Fuck YOU! I now want to make it my mission in life to get in to non-life threatening accidents with people that are OBVIOUSLY driving under the influence. Heck, I'll even try to hit the driver side door if I can. Or even better, I'll try and hit you so that you can live, scratch-free, and all of your passengers will be injured/maimed/etc. Oh, what's that you say? No one will ride with you when you're high? Maybe they know something you don't.
I can claim whiplash or whatever, make sure that my car gets totalled. I have a good lawyer, and NO ONE on a jury is going to believe a druggie over me, John Q. Upstanding. I'll get a ton of settlement money, use it to pay my insurance premium, which will probably go up a little, and use the rest to buy more drugs to NOT drive on. You will also receive drugs, it might even be opiates! But that will be to help curb the pain of your severed spinal cord and phantom limb pain. Good luck with that though :)

I've driven while on many things, and I'm not proud of it. But the only thing I will drive on is weed. Everything else either makes me drive much faster or slower, or you will be weaving in and out of traffic and you won't even notice it.

what am i so afraid of? that some irresponsible idiot that thinks they are ok to drive when they are fucked up will run me over.
what makes you an even bigger asshole is that you still seem to think it's ok to drive fucked up for some reason. since the death of the person you knew wasn't enough to wake you up to the fact that it's an assinine thing to do, hopefully when you do hit something while fucked up, you will be the only one hurt. perhaps a few days in the hospital followed by months of painful physical therapy will give the simple fact you are a retard a chance to sink into your thick skull.
if you live.

I think that someone high on meth (moderate dose) would drive better. Specially if he is in a car chase. What about that?

I think someone high on meth (moderate dose) would make more intelligent posts. What about that?
(To keep from going too far off-topic) We already have enough morons in this world that think they can drive when they're sober. Driving home every day, along major highways in a major metropolitian area, you see accidents. And these are caused by (usually) non-intoxicated people that think they can drive better than they really can.
Maybe it doesn't even have to be your own stupidity on the road for driving while intoxicated. How many people have been in accidents or close calls caused by other people driving badly? Just because you (think you) drive well under the influence, doesn't mean that other people on the road drive well. Accidents are always caused by 2 parties, whether the second party be a fence or a school bus. And while it may take 2 to tango, it only takes 1 to kill you (or them).

Ok well I guess I expected more ppl to say they have/do drive under the influence, but that most seem to draw a line thats definetly good. Personall I have driven on almost every substance i've done. I've never been pulled over or gotten to an accident when high, except for oncewhen I was pulled over for going through a yellow light, but the cop had no idea i was high, let me go and told me to get a sticker for my licence plate (which I had on the front, but he could'vr given me a ticket for that).
I've driven on:
Marijuana- countless times, almost daily),
amphetamines- countless, almost daily),
alcohol- a few times, some when I came to realize I was wayyy to drunk to drive but made it home ok and without incident)
LSD- many times, on doses ranging from .5 hit good blotter to 5 hits. A couple almost dangerous incidents; but the biggest problem was that I wouldn't think anything of passing a cop on the highway going 85 and would probably smile and wave to him... and things like stop signs and other basic driving rules like right of way, etc. are forgotten.
Coke- many times, usually on the come down but atleast 10 times when I was doing it in the car as I was driving or id stop somewhere quick.
Heroin- once, I was nodding off and it freaked me out enough to try not to do it again.
Ritalin- Many, many times. When I first started driving at that time I was at the beginning of a 1.5 year period of heavy Ritalin use, always snorted. I had a mini mortar and pestle that I would grind the pills in as I drove, and would be able to snort out of through a pen tube- all without my eyes ever leaving the road. I'd do this usually on the way to work or anywhere.
Ecstacy- 10-15 times, for a good amount of the roll. This was always fun, as I could listen to music and have the AC pumping, and always be going and seeing something new.
I would/will never attempt to drive on Ambien (which I take often), dissociatives, or on really high doses of anything. I usually know when its not a good time to drive. I don't encourage anyone to drive under the influence, but if you are confident in your ability to drive and are willing to accept that you may be risking your life and/or the lives of others, then that's your decision. Personally, I know I am usually okay, especially since being high (on pot) when I drive (which is all the time), state dependant learning kicks in and I keep it together. I've never had any bad incidents, and the few accidents i've been in i've been totally straight (which is not often). So if you trust yourself enough and are willing to take the risks then good, otherwize dont try it.

First person that actually answered my question.
I wasn't really suprised about all the do-good boy scout replies.

driving while under the influence of:
weed - is cool. sometimes you may be going 30 in a 35 and have to speed it up a little, but i might even drive better high than when i am sober...
e - while coming down from a roll, i would have to drive home, but it isnt recommended. i would notice that my eyes would want to pay attention to all of the lights (back of cars, stoplights, store lights,etc...). I only drive on a come down when i know i have control.
alcohol - very very against this for obvious reasons.
xanax - very very against this, because you may be liable to doze off (at higher doses) and you could just crash and you prolly wouldn't even feel it.
just my thoughts...

MDMA is strange to drive on, especially during the onset. Once the physical rushes almost led me to pull over. It also affects vision.

I'll reiterate again, Xanax+driving=bad!! Most times I've succeeded, but I did $1800 dollars worth of damage to my car one night as previous posted, just wanted to get that out again how dangerous it can be with benzos, well the alcohol I drank didn't help.
Not even a week or two later I did the same thing again and dozed off and grazed a fire hyrdrant, denting the rim of my car and causing a flat. I think I've learned my lesson......
