Drinking rules

dont drive

all i can think of

I have another to add. Avoid sugary drinks, especially alcoholic ones. Sugar is the last thing I want with my alcohol. Will only add more calories/carbs, dehydrate you more, make shit worse in the long run.

Sugar just seems like a nasty thing to mix with alcohol. I don't get why kids love their sugary malt-liquor drinks so much. Maybe it's just that "Br0 4lokooo" mentality? Whatever, it's not for me.

Rule 1: Don't buy a 3-litre box of wine with the idea of making it last... it won't. Then I'm still sober enough to walk to the shop but drunk enough to convince myself that more booze will be ok. Then I vomit blood, get told by the helpline to go to A&E (ER), then I'm medicated for alcohol withdrawal. That was last night. Pleased to say the blood was only a minor thing - nothing life-threatening.

That's rule 1.

Rule 2: Don't drink around family. They don't like it. I don't blame them.

Rule 3: For f**ks sake don't buy spirits. Ever.

Rule 4: Don't eat fatty foods beforehand or during. For some reason I've never figured out, mixing booze with fatty food gives me breathing problems. Had that since I was a teenager.

Rule 5: Just generally try to avoid alcohol poisoning.

Rule 6: Never, ever, get behind the wheel after a drink.

As you can see, I've had some issues. It's a crazy drug in the wrong hands. My hands are definitely wrong.

I've actually cut back on my drinking a lot recently.. I didn't even realize hah. I haven't had any booze in like a week. This thread just reminded me.

The break is going to make having some nice single malt scotch all the better. ;)

No benzos before hand, made that mistake a couple times... yikes.
Easy on the shots.
Dont sleep wit coworkers (hard one when u work in a restaurant.)
Lots of water n some greasy food before bed or just some dirty sex u prob wont remember.

Don't take 2 other CNS depressants on top of the booze, equalling a total of 3 CNS depressants... recipe for disaster and I narrowly kept a buddy of mine alive last night because of his stupidity. I told him afterwards to make a BL account immediately and start learning a thing or two before he kills himself.

-Never get drunk in public, especially if I'm alone.
-When I start buying drinks for people I don't know, its time to leave.
-Eating is good. Definitely right before, possibly during, and always always have toast right after. I used to always keep a box of instant mashed potato flakes on hand for the morning after.
-Sip water. One glass water per drink is a goal I pretend to aim for but it's more like a 1:2 ratio. I can chug down two mason jars of water when I wake up in the middle of the night, and do so.
-When I start to feel effects that remind me of when I was a daily drinker, I take a break.

1. NEVER take benzo's before or after drinking. (This always results in me not only going overboard, but blacking out, and doing ridiculous things that I would never do just drinking.

2. NEVER smoke weed while drunk. (However I break this rule constantly, occasionally it works out, but usually I end up sick and confused.)

3. Do not drink to excess unless I have a good amount of cigarettes. (Whenever I drink, I go through a TON of cigarettes, if I run out while in the midst of my binge my cravings for cigarettes are likely to make the whole experience terrible.)

4. If you have done H, DO NOT drink to excess. (This rule is the easiest to follow because I don't like drinking on H very much, but it has happened, and when it did I ended up doing ridiculous things, kind of like when I take benzo's w/ alcohol.)

5. If driving (though I do my best to not have to, however, we all have those times where it is inevitable, especially if you live in the suburbs like me..) make sure that every single light on said car is completely intact and working. Follow all driving laws to the T.

6. Do not go to a bar unless you have plenty of cash, otherwise I am likely to either over-spend, or not be able to drink to the level that I want.

7. Don't take shots of liquor unless offered. If offered, do not exceed 3 shots during your drinking experience.

8. Drink at least one full cup of water before bed (but preferably 4.)

Úmm... I don't drink much, I never have but we used to party alot me and my circle of friends some years back. Let's see...

#1. IV is not a preferable route of administration.

#2. Only 2 rounds of "Jack The Ripper" (1mg flunitrazepam + absinthe, crush the pills and pour it in with the sugar after the usual ritual) is to be served during the party and they will only be served at the beginning and the end. Just because you are the host does not mean you can have more. There should be no plans for later (no going to bars and such).

#3. Smoking weed does make you more drunk. Be careful in combination with above.

#4. Opiates and alcohol generally don't mix.

#5. Stimulant effects dissappear eventually, rule #2 is still to be followed. Don't drink too much or you might find yourself VERY drunk later.

#6 When in doubt, you have probably blacked out.

#7 Water is good for you, drink lots.

#8 See to it you have been to the pharamcy and gotten pills for dehydration and tomorrows headaches.

To Cure Hangover:

1: Take Rest
Rest is your best friend at this point to give your body a recover.

2: Re-hydrate yourself
The problems you experience the next day is the result of dehydration. So take excess amount of water to re-hydrate.

3: Avoid caffeine.
It won't wake you up. Rather, caffeine will further dehydrate you, and could aggravate your stomach, making you feel even queasier.

4: Eat greasy food
Crackers and toast can boost blood sugar that may have dipped while drinking, contributing to your fatigue and overall weakness, according to the Mayo Clinic.

1. NEVER EVER EVER mix benzo's and alcohol again. How I did not learn this sooner, I will never know...

2. Try hydrate as much as possible before drinking.

3. Always eat before drinking, the more the better so long as I don't get to the point I feel bloated.

4. If heading out on the town, always predrink as much as possible without getting to the point they wont let you in, drinks in clubs aren't cheap!

5. Don't smoke good quality cannabis until you are ready to wind things down, it usually just makes me sleepy and antisocial. (But always have cannabis for when you want to sleep!)

6. Always drink water before bed and keep a bottle next to the bed if possible, the odd glass of water while drinking is never a bad idea, but if you are drinking beer it can lead to a lot of toilet trips.

7. Eat something greasy on the way home, my personal favourite is probably a kebab with extra garlic and chilli sauce.

8. Always have benzo's and weed at home for the next day, if I observe all my rules then I shouldn't really need the benzo's (I smoke weed everyday anyway) but for those times when I forget they are a godsend. Also, for some reason nothing cures a headache for me as well as weed does (not even opiates) so for me even if I didn't smoke everyday I would want some on hand for a potential hangover. Strangely I have never found cannabis to be a particularly effective pain reliever in any other sense.

Overall for me the most important things are making sure I am hydrated before drinking and rehydrating after, and making sure I have enough food in my stomach that the piss doesn't go straight to my head. I can end up VERY drunk quite often without incident, but it seems almost everytime I drink without eating I get into trouble so nowadays I always make sure to grab something first. Obviously this doesn't apply if I am just having a couple of beers.
