Dominican Music Lover's Roll Call (Merengue, Bachata, etc)

Some more good reggaeton

Nejo ft. Archangel-Algo Musical

takes me back to summertime 08ish drinking at the beach, whole lotta ass shaking goin on

Do you listen to any Merengue at all? Checking out that song by Ñejo ASAP, I like their shit very much.

That's great! I have mostly been exposed to the newer stuff, been meaning to get into the more old school stuff. I listen to some old school bachata, but in terms of merengue, it's almost only the new school.

I find it funny that the second song is named after the stuff in urine and bile =p

Checking those out now.

I've been listening to Juan Luis Guerra a lot lately. I like his style of mixing merengue and bachata.

Yea, his song thats gettin alot of play right now, Bachata En Fukuoka is the shit...Since the first time i heard it i been really feelin it. check it out if you aint heard yet flacky, I really really like it.

Right now i been listenin to a mix of old and newer shit, here is my favorites right now (And flacky you know that now this is just gonna be the "all the music in spanish goes here thread" lol...cuz with how little people is posting in here, there sure aint gona be another one for different categories) anyways...my picks aint all bachata, its just a mix of styles .

Zion Y Lennox - Como Curar - HOT HOT HOT! Definately a summer song tho, makes me sad now that fall is here :(
Anthony santos - Vete y alejate de mi (old)
jowell y randy - loco
24 horas - 24 horas the guitar solo in the lil breakdown in the middle is sick
juan luis guerra - bachata en fukuoka (obviosuly, but i wanted to include it to make my list complete even tho i just said it before)
and oh man....Yo, I know this song is older but lately i just been LOVIN Yo Quisiera Amarla by Aventura...Its so sad, waaaaaa :( haha....you know, I didnt noticed that you posted it before flacky, ori woulda said somethin, but its definately one of my favorites too.
And the Bachata version of Stand by me, by Prince Royce, Im really enjoyin it. i always liked that song as a kid and hearing it with a bachata twist, with the spanish lyrics and shit, its just a nice little song...

And i always just automatically skip over RTTT/Kevnkosners posts, or i woulda seen that he had posted Te Quiero by dj flex. Well , for once i agree with him on somethin. Old ass song but I still like it. they still play it on la mega alot too.

I like the fact that in bachata, etc, the artists write the music, play the instruments--they talented dudes, and they superstars. Its refreshing cuz in english language shit, stuff that is the pop equivalent of an artist like aventura popularity and famous wise, will just be a lame as performer, like Rihanna, you know, just a packaged produced image and all that, but in alot of spanish music there is a lot more actual skill and talent.

sure some people will argue there ain no skill in reggaeton, etc, but nevermind that, Im talking about bachata specifically, the artists are talented and not just pre-produced packaged bands, but they got the same levels of fame in their markets that the lame-ass pop singers do in theirs, it seems like the skill and talent is much more appreciated in spanish music. You hear that shit on the radio all the time, it would never be like that on z100 or any of the pop music stations of english language shit.

dammmn...no updates? I aint been listenin to much of anything at all lately cuz i got the baby now, and i always do most of my music listenin in the car which i dont be in much since i never get out.

Flacky where u at i need some new shit . I heard a couple songs I was likin on la mega a few wks ago but forgot to check wat they was on the song lookup on their website and it only goes back like a week so idk wat they was.

Ima go an check out their playlist right now cuz thers usualyl always somethin hot on 97.9, i listen to la mega more than hot 97 these days actually. I want Malik to grow up hearin as much spanish as possible so he will speak it too cuz he gonna need it esp. once we move back to the hood
