does vicodin make anyone else hyper sometimes?

I have taken Oxycodone over 20 times & dont like it. Its great for pain but makes me edgy. Its too stimulating. I rather take percs, they chill me out more....maybe because of the tylenol in it. I like to be sedated more & relax instead of bouncing around.

The first month I would get very energetic off Vicodin. That has past & now It just relaxes me & thats the way I want to be when on opiates. I dont like the energetic feeling.
 
I've heard others (even in this thread) say hydrocodone (Vicoden) is stimulating, I think it's extremely sedating actually. Quite good for pain though, all opiates are but I really feel like even though its a "lesser" one it works great for pain especially for a short term.

Percocet is oxycodone. And Tylenol can not change the psychological effects of opiates. Acetaminophen is not psychoactive. It can only increase the analgesic effects.

Which makes me want to chat more with friends, play games, eat my fav. foods, and learn something new. Brings me a whole new feeling of confidence, and that "warm-fuzzy" feeling.

LoL.....I know Percocets are Oxycodone but for some reason I like them alot but hate plain Oxycodone w/o the apap in it. For some reason Oxycodone by itself gives me that edgy & stimulating feeling while Percs sedate me, dont understand it but then again, who cares.
 
I've been on Oxycodone for 2 years now, I'm allowed to take 220mg per day. That's 40 instant release, and 180 Extended release. I usually only take about 100mg, so I do have some spare pills around for an emergency. Anyway, I feel great on them, they take my pain away, and I swear they help me with my studies greatly. I am studying for med school, and when I dose, I am alert, and I always score much better on my tests!!! I wonder if some people in the population actually have improved well being when on an opioid? I am more confident, I do public speaking better, my thought are much more clear, If it wasn't for my accident where I crushed 3 discs in my back and had a few botched surgeries, I don't think I'd be doing as well in life, I thank the pain meds for that, I truly am better off without them!!! I wonder if any doctor out there would agree with my statement? Anyone else feel the same way?
