I have been on suboxone for about 16 months at 2mg. I'd like to know from those who've been on suboxone maitenance and then got off: Did quitting suboxone make you feel any different mentally or physically? Even at 2mg suboxone lights up most of your opioid receptors and releases endorphins. However, taking suboxone may make me feel the slightest boost mentally and physically for a short time, but most of the time I do not feel anything from it and it's what I imagine my "sober state" to be. Physically I don't feel different either but I wonder if suboxone is providing me with energy that I otherwise would not have.
I intend to taper and am battling some depression and the likes, and wish to know if it is a good idea or not. It would be odd if quitting would make me feel differently when I don't think I feel different on Suboxone. When you quit, did you feel different in any way and if so how? Is it like normal PAWS, even though you are not getting the "benefits" that real opioids provide?
