Does getting off Suboxone make you feel different?

I have been on suboxone for about 16 months at 2mg. I'd like to know from those who've been on suboxone maitenance and then got off: Did quitting suboxone make you feel any different mentally or physically? Even at 2mg suboxone lights up most of your opioid receptors and releases endorphins. However, taking suboxone may make me feel the slightest boost mentally and physically for a short time, but most of the time I do not feel anything from it and it's what I imagine my "sober state" to be. Physically I don't feel different either but I wonder if suboxone is providing me with energy that I otherwise would not have.

I intend to taper and am battling some depression and the likes, and wish to know if it is a good idea or not. It would be odd if quitting would make me feel differently when I don't think I feel different on Suboxone. When you quit, did you feel different in any way and if so how? Is it like normal PAWS, even though you are not getting the "benefits" that real opioids provide?

Oh you'll feel "different", that's for sure. And yes, it is like normal WD/paws, although not as intense, however it lasts a lot longer than short acting opioids. I know you said you will be doing a taper, which is good, but just know that even jumping from .5mg, is quite the rough ride! You want to aim for the .1-.3mg area, and even that isn't fun.

He's right! I jut tried jumping from a 2mg a day suboxone dose that I was taking for just 2 months and it's doing me in. More mentally than physically. Right around 21-22 hours after last dose was starting to get physical for me. Rls, chill, etc.. Etc..

And even at 2mg a day it's not your sober state.. U still feel "good" with 2mg's a day. And feeling good is not normal when stopping suboxone.

When I was opioid naive I took 2mg subutex and was high as a kite for 12+ hours and nodding half that time, so high it made me puke.

You aren't feeling its effects because your tolerance has increased. 2mg bupe is a hefty dose.

I'm not trying to "feel effects", but want to know how people felt after stopping. I'm aware about the immediate withdrawal but I'm talking about after that. Also Jeason that is surprising because unless you were taking a ROA other than oral, you should not start to feel WD until around 48 hours after last dose sometimes more.

You will be fucked up, more or less, or even not fucked up, but it has to make you feel differently. Hopefully you metabolism will recover with time, and you will be ok.

2MG bupe is NOT a hefty dose to someone who once had a true opiate addiction; many of us on bupe wish we could get down to 2MG and stay w/ that 2MG. started at 24MG which is not necessary and dropped to 16MG quickly and followed by 8MG. been on 8MG for a bit because its a pain in the butt to make the drop from 8MG to 6MG having to cut that pill; I may just try and go from 8MG to 4MG but many say its a rough ride although dropping from 16MG to 8MG was quite easy.

anyway, I've done it before and left at 1MG; spent a week in a detox where I just took clonodine and librium and left somewhat "OK" after that.

all depends what you've been through before and what your plan is.
