I don't know why codeine recieves so much "hate" compared to other opiates. It is always said to be a weak opiate, and while I understand those with a decent tolerance can't enjoy it due to its ceiling dose, it should be not considered a "weak" opiate for those without tolerance or with little tolerance. Let us remember that codeine is metabolized into morphine. And morphine is well morphine. If the dose is right, and the one taking the codeine metabolizes codeine normally, it should be comparable to an equal dose of oral morphine. There is nothing unenjoyable about codeine IMO, though it does have a different feel. One person I met even claimed T 3's were "like hitting the jackpot". And that is a quote. And that was just from T 3's! Codeine isn't a "shitty" opiate for someone who metabolizes it right with no tolerance. I wonder if it is just that most prefer the feel of oxycodone and hydrocodone to the feel of morphine which is what is causing the codeine's effects. Sorry for the rant, but I just had to say it.
