Does anyone else find creationism insulting to God?

>>Yes, but an empirical investigation will also be willing to throw out any inference which is later shown to be incorrect. Also, empirical investigations do not refer to an inference or presupposition as an incontrovertible fact. That is the difference between faith an inference.>>

Good points...it could be that religious and scientific or philosopic faith are different in kind, but, being irreligious, I am rather ignorant of the former.

Very different in kind. Scientific "faith" is more of an empirical inference. Something is possible, even probable, but unproven. Thus one makes an inference that it may be true. Further data may either prove or disprove this inference.

Contrast this with religious faith: Parthenogenesis, while common in some taxa, is completely unknown in humans and other higher mammals. A scientist could not infer that any given human might have been conceived this way. However, there is no reason why a religious philosophy could not believe that certain humans were immaculately conceived. Religious faith does not require any kind of proof or evidence. Part of the definition of faith for many religions is in fact the ability to stay true to one's beliefs regardless of any evidence to the contrary.

The two are very different in kind.

The thing is, religious faith really does require a bit of evidence. People's prayers really are answered (in their experience)...people really do open the door to mystical states via meditation.

ebola

Prayers are answered because when people want something they try hard. The religious ones pray, and try hard. Their prayers are "answered" when the simply get the result of trying hard. Pray for a million dollars, do you really think youll get it.

I am a toothian. I love the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy is truth, All truth comes from the tooth fairy.
Dogmatic statements are easy to speak, hard to disprove......but mean nothing.
On the positive side, funny link.

People should register the truth behind this statement.

Was that really so dogmatic? Or was it just another perspective?

To Christians, God is true, thus anything true is God. If it is true that there is no God, than Christians would have to admit there is not God, other wise they are worshipping something fake.
