Does anybody LIKE Opiate Withdrawal?

15 days in a row isnt that long, but def will show some signs of withdrawals...try 240 days straight takin lets say smelling 10-15 30mg a day hmmm..if i didnt take somethin within 5 hours later of my last dose id start getting cold sweats..like clock workkkk

The most I have done is fifteen days in a row but there were like 6 of those instances within half a year - the last half of 2009. (BEEN CLEAN ALL OF 2010 =D - haha pssh 8) )

Anyway, I may have understated my symptoms. I've never had cold sweats while awake, but during my worst WD (15 days -ish straight about 50-80mg's +/- heroin a couple days) I did have the shits 2-3 times maximum, have to change clothes 3 times at night for 3 nights, waking up with a damp bed, and even a puddle, but none of this last time...

... and I attribute that to the slightly less amount that I used and the drastic environment change I underwent.

EDIT: Might I mention just a random piece of info - During, but mostly toward the end and after the acute WD, I had cravings to watch opioid-themed episodes of Intervention or Gone Too Far or True Life and they brought up my spirits to be honest... not because of the fact that these people are so much worse than I, but watching the drug use almost killed the mental cravings (I had the opportunities to buy more drugs, yet resisted).

EDIT again: I noticed a few people named my BL-screenname or made references to it -- just want to let you know that it is (maybe WAS) a constant reminder that I should use opiates RARELY, and that when I did slip, my screenname became obsolete.

I was actually thinking about this today, whether or not I liked them (in hindsight, of course), but my conclusion was that the main thing I like about w/d is how fucking good it feels when you get another fix. Doing a shot when I was dopesick was like going from the shittiest feeling to the best feeling, and it was just so relieving to score when I was ill.

The only other good thing about withdrawing is it serves as a reminder when I think about starting opiates again. But thinking about the high usually overshadows thinking about any negatives associated with using.

But besides that, no, fuck that shit. I hate being a slave to that shit.

Amen bro. There is nothing better in life then when you are in w/d and you find some shit. Hell, when I am in w/d and I just scored, my w/d seem to disappear knowing that in a matter of minutes I am going to be high again and out of the shit.

dog if thats the worst withdrawls uve experirnced then consider urself lucky u have no clue about true withdrawls try 3 OC 80's a day for a year strait then quiting cold turkey homeboy

I hate withdrawal as much as the next junkie, but there is times where withdrawal is sort of enjoyable. Like for example when I'm in withdrawal music seems more enjoyable, and I get rushes of optimism and will feel nostalgic about the past sometimes. Also I can actually cum which feels kind of good when in withdrawal.

i like this thread

Opiates rarely, what you have been fairly brave to post about here, is in my opinion, just you enjoying the emotions that one has.. its true what the others say your habit was not a bad one. and you would not like the withdrawals which come along with a serious and chronic opiate addiction. (i myself have experienced withdrawals from opiates and they were unpleasant..)

but having said all this , you are probably (i dont know) just enjoying the return to sobriety which always ensues from a period of abstinence. drugs are great when used responsibly but they dull the mind and emotions some what or *change* them at least.

when u abstain feelings come flooding back , and it is pleasant to some people to notice this (as long as the w/d arent that bad)

the way i look at it , if your high for so long and then you stop using ... that come down is another type of buzz.. when being high is normal .. it can be become in many ways uninspiring... in a way ... being sober becomes the new buzz

maybe this is the point you are touching on ?

you are quite right to be cautious about opiate use. it would be nice if you always "enjoyed" withdrawal.....

Somebody once told me that when people are trying to quit drugs (any drugs, WD or NO WD), they are optimistic at first, and they get feelings and emotions back that they haven't had in a while as well as "rushes" of domapine/serotonin-- whatever that is coming back again for the first time after a period of "abstinence" from those natural brain-secreted chemicals... and then after things start to normalize, and before a LONG time has passed, they have general feelings of depression, boredom, cravings, etc. more persistently, and they think "might as well get high if i can never be right again..."

PAWS?

The ejaculation thing probably ties into that as well.

I have dropped 2mgs on my valium taper and also have stopped using heroin at the same time and I am having what feel like benzo withrdawls, suicidal thoughts, (massive) anxiety attack, skin is creeping etc.

I would have put it down to the taper but every other time I have dropped 2mg I havent noticed a difference.

I have been smoking about .3 of uk brown heroin a day for 5 - 6 weeks and havent done any for 2 days now, could that be the cause?

Most fucking definitely. 5-6 weeks is plenty long enough to get physically hooked if you're using every day. Although, if you are on day 2, you're at least halfway into the WDs, so things should start getting better soon, especially if you are smoking, which I imagine has the shortest WDs, since it lasts the shortest in your body. But yeah, I'd think by day 4-5 you will be feeling better. Good luck!

also man now is not a good time to be dropping your diazepam dose...

get rid of the junk first

you can reduce the diazepam later right?

I find day 2 to be the worst of withdrawals, and day 3 to start getting better, and everything is usually done by day 4-5, and you may have VERY slight lingering uncomfort up to day 7. BUT THEN, ledionz, the REAL hard part is the following weeks, and possible months, where your mental cravings and resistings and bouts of depression/anxiety can easily make you forget the physical stuff, and you could relapse back into the hellhole.

Cheers for the responses everyone.

Stupid really I got into doing the smack more reg then usual because I couldn't do benzos now I gotta not do either if I ever want to feel normal again :\.

keep up the good work man. dont make it too hard on yourself.

Yea i've noticed your username before and I think it's hilarious... but for the purposes of reminding yourself that it is also practical/useful i suppose. At first i just thought it was maybe a joke because using opiates rarely is perhaps one of the more difficult things to do in this world for a sustained period of time.

Almost like an oxymoron or somethin, you just don't see those two words back to back all that much. Good shit tho... and good luck w/ everything.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

Oh, I never thought of it as a joke, but thanks for enlightening me... I see the humor =D. As well as the dark side of it :\.

My main reason for making it such was two-fold. One, I couldn't think up anything clever or that described me that of which I would not get bored after some time. Two, I knew it would help me (and possibly others) just with those two words together.

Another oxymoron tying into this is that Bluelight itself is such a trigger for cravings, IME, and for others I can imagine a trigger for relapse... plus, if you do too many opiates all the time, you'll become an Oxy-Moron.

Certainly do not enjoy opiate w/d. The only part I like is the end. When I use again and the pain goes away. Then again, I've been using almost daily for the past few years and the amount/mg amount has been steadily increasing. The w/d's are horrible enough that they habit remains.

You should definitely just stop using them right now before the w/d's get to what be like they are --horror.

I miss it or am nostalgic toward the time spent and activities done (and in fact, usually the symptoms of it) while in opioid withdrawal

That is yourself talking yourself into using again. The only way to 'recover' from opiate addiction that I am aware of and know works is to abstain completely.

If you were smart you'd respect opiates for what they are; highly addictive drugs that can seriously screw up your life.

You had a minor physical w/d. Your 'freeby' is used up. I doubt the next one will be as easy. Tolerance and physical addiction can make for a miserable time. Even if you work and use legit (mostly) scripts your life revolves around that script. Without it I am useles for several unpleasant days. Then of course PAWS rears it's head.

Captain.Heroin once said that, on a scale of 1-10, using opiates again once deep in the throws of WD puts you from a -10 to a +10 in a matter of seconds (IV), and THAT feeling in itself is much more reinforcing than the IV Heroin rush alone.

Hmmm, you could be right here... I'll heed the warning.
Honestly, I find that reading about and discussing the effects and everything that goes along with opioids (experiencing maybe, also?) is more satisfying than using opiates. Then again, I don't read up and talk about cocaine and ecstasy, having never tried them, so you have a good point.

I do respect them for what they are, yet I admit that I've had times of disrespect and ignorance and apathy.

I've had WD 4 times... and they were all minor, so once again, you are probably right - it happens to be that I wasn't using much or for such a long amount of time.

Yes, it's the idea that opiates are less addicting when you're chipping.

If I wanted to IV a milligram of dilaudid (all I would need to get a nice 4 hour high and a great rush), I can, and while the experience would be nice, it's not as "addictive" or "powerful" since I'm not addicted to opiates. I don't have any major WD symptoms anymore, so there's no "-10" for me to go to "+10", it's just 0 to "+10".

Getting high on drugs seems a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot better when you're in really bad WD from them. For example, I would get "the highest" I normally would off of heroin when I would go get a new bag. Sometimes it would take longer than expected to get in touch with dude man, then meet up somewhere, wait for who knows how long, then the drive back, then the chopping of a line. By the time I'd be having the next line I felt so god awful that when I did get high, it was a whole other level of "getting high on opiates". A lot better than merely busting out another line within another 6 hours or so.

I reference snorting H because I got this effect from that ROA too, however the IV ROA is probably the best example, since in 7 seconds you can go from "-10" to "+10" - the quicker the change, and the more extreme the change from negative to positive affect, the more affinitive/addictive the drug/experience is for you.

I've had WD 4 times... and they were all minor, so once again, you are probably right - it happens to be that I wasn't using much or for such a long amount of time.
What interests me is that when I first had heroin WD, I was only using for a week. It was still horrible IMO. I couldn't get out of bed, felt like I couldn't pay attention or concentrate, I felt like I was in a daze, etc. Lots of apathy/boredom, somewhat of a depressing feeling.

I guess my point is - consider yourself lucky you have only had "minor" WD's. For some people, there isn't such a thing as "minor WD's". So, get clean from opiates and stick to chipping or using other, not as addictive drugs if you can't be a responsible chipper (if you can or can't - it's up to you and something only you can realize about yourself). I can responsibly use opiates, which is why I'm choosing not to use anything but buprenorphine.
