... or am I just fucked in the head?
Ok, I have a few things to say, so please don't rush to a "FUCK YOU, BUDDY!:!" response, although you can if you want!

History: This is all nasally and inevitably orally once the drip gets swallowed. Roughly 15 days max, with a few random days off, in about 5 total instances of max-use.
40-80mg's OC a day, well say. Done H in between a handful of times in Total.
Smoking weed every day with or without my dose - roughly half gram a day, usually nightly.
Worst WD symptom's out of the usual ones for me are depression/anxiety, chills, and cold nightsweats. (never day coldsweats)
Exception (Rat Park type of thing): Last use... I did about 50-60mg's oxy a day for two weeks, and on the last day I mixed 50mg's Oxy with a half point of powder H made from tar. The only WD I felt when I got to my destination were enlarged pupils, minimal goosebumps, irritability, minimal depression/anxiety, slight insomnia, mildly racing thoughts, cloudy head, diminished concentration, diminished motivation (although I was unmotivated when I was smoking weed, high or not), all for 3-4 days. The latter 3 symptoms were most likely from the weed clouding the brain.

Question: I look back at my opiate withdrawal, and even though I hated it and was miserable at the time of it, I feel like I miss it or am nostalgic toward the time spent and activities done (and in fact, usually the symptoms of it) while in opioid withdrawal.
Well, for that matter, I don't appreciate or enjoy things as much when I am doing them as when I look back upon them or think about them, referring to anything, not just drugs, but drugs as well.
Does anybody have the same feelings? -- or have I never been through a hellish-enough WD to despise it? (although I have had strong feelings of self-loathing, depression, crying, and "I'm never fucking doing this shit again!!" before).

edit: BTW, it is already a few hours into the new year here as I type.

edit January 6th: Don't get me wrong! I have had strong feelings of self-loathing, depression, crying, and "I'm never fucking doing this shit again!!" before.

I was actually thinking about this today, whether or not I liked them (in hindsight, of course), but my conclusion was that the main thing I like about w/d is how fucking good it feels when you get another fix. Doing a shot when I was dopesick was like going from the shittiest feeling to the best feeling, and it was just so relieving to score when I was ill.

The only other good thing about withdrawing is it serves as a reminder when I think about starting opiates again. But thinking about the high usually overshadows thinking about any negatives associated with using.

But besides that, no, fuck that shit. I hate being a slave to that shit.

I cannot fathom someone enjoying withdrawals. I will be going through them starting tomorrow, I want to be sober for a while and I am looking forward to it. If you enjoy withdrawals then you don't have a habit bad enough to feel the torture that is withdrawal.

Yes, in hindsight, but also I kind of enjoy experiencing and witnessing cycles and how the human body works and all that jazz...

... but then again, I am probably in the experimentation stages, although I can surely tell you that I have gotten into somewhat of a habit, had some pretty bad problems that most associate with addiction, etc.

And then, as you mentioned wiggi, there is the aspect of looking forward to sobriety and re-experiencing real emotions, senses, nostalgias, feelings, a clear thought process, etc, etc, etc! (Whether they come back during WD or later).

this is unrelated, but I actually don't mind and kind of like the feeling of an amphetamine comedown.

Acute withdrawal is always bad. I think some freaks enjoyed aspected of acute withdrawal ( like W. Burroughs), who talked about the anal leakage and all that stuff as it relates to faggotry....

But, in mild withdrawal associated with dose reduction, there can be good symptoms. Exercise is nice during mild withdrawal, and if youve been using for a while, the testosterone rebound is nice. Sex is better too, and you get better erections...

Your habit was very, very small compared to most people......You did not experience true withdrawals if you did not want to fucking die every minute of it. I am actually surprised you even had any withdrawals from such low and infrequent use.

From the amount of opiates you consumed i'd imagine you felt shitty but not anywhere near as shitty as true opiate withdrawl can be. Wanting to burn yourself alive because your soul is being ripped out of your body. The hot/cold sweats, muscle aches and pains, nausea, hallucinations both auditory and visual (never pleasurable ones), diarrhea and constipation battling eachother for the rights to your bowels and then your brain chemistry telling you that you NEED dope to feel better, to not feel like killing yourself. The only cure, the only thing strong enough to cure you, to put you out of your miserable agony is a fix of dope.

That my friend is withdrawl. I don't want to meet the person that finds that pleasurable.

Somehow, I found a way to make it even worse on myself this one time I was in withdrawl. I'll never repeat this as I was obviously not in the right state of mind. But try taking a heavy dose of MDMA while on full blown opiate withdrawl. That'll make you run back to your dealer/stash real quick.

Long story short. Heroin is what it is. If you're using it responsibly (i dont know a single person in that category) then kudos but if you're starting to slip into that gray area of habitual usage fucking quit while you're ahead buddy. It's just not worth it, ferreal.

edit: BTW, it is already the New Year where I am, everyone else is asleep, and I am still awake - it's almost daylight, so don't go thinking "this guy is typing up a fucking thread on NYE!?"

spoken the true words of someone who has NOT experienced real w/d.

may be you miss the WD symtoms because of your general love to opiates use & lifestyle and the memory of the WD reminds you this romance of being into an opiate game... u get me?

for me, fuck the opiates those motherfuckers know how to get you addicted...

Withdrawal never really bothered me during my OC habit when i couldnt score.. but when i went on methadone and quit CT at 120mg THAT is when i realized the true pain of W/D's.. it was horrible. I dont even wanna think about it anymore, shittin water every 5minutes, puking at the same time, my legs felt like they were gonna run away from my body.. my knees hurt so bad that I felt like i wanted to cut them off.. midnight breakdancing driving you nuts not being able to sleep so you yell at your legs at the top of your lungs to stop fucking wanting to move.. being so sick you have everyone in your house worried that your gonna drop dead any second.. no sleep for 3-4 days.. and that was with the help of clonidine, klonopin, and baclofen I finally couldnt put up with it n e more so i went on subs and ive been on them since. So my answer is OC w/d's a walk in the park especially at low doses.. but methadone w/d's feel like death. especially jumping off of 120mg after being on that dose for 6 months.

What an odd question.

I enjoy some types of pain, but I think there is an adrenaline factor there.

I can't imagine that would come into play with a drug withdrawal, I certainly know it isn't true [for me at least] during benzo withdrawal.

Good on you for quitting though, whatever works.

Good for you for quitting. I'm working on that as well. Have relapsed a ton of times, but there is always hope. I haven't had nearly as big habits as some people on here, but God am I scared of the withdrawals. Opiates become less and less fun the more you do them, so yeah, definitely quit while ahead. And don't let people on here give you too hard of a time. No, you don't know what bad WDs are like, but I mean you are damn lucky that you don't know what they are like.

Speaking from experience, it takes more strength for you to quit with where you are at then to go the route of using more and more opiates and dealing with shitty WDs. It takes a lot of mental strength to quit drugs, but I think it will help you in the end greatly in life.

Congrats on the decision to quit

ok...

fuck. i'm ahead and im quitting.

Best decision you can ever make - to quit while you're ahead. Cash in your chips while you still have them! I am glad I quit after nearly a year of constant heroin abuse, I wouldn't have done it any differently even if I couldn't get on Suboxone. Even though that's what really made it a cake walk instead of hell on earth for me.

I mean I'm not 100% un-sure of where Opiatesrarely is coming from, because I can see how some people derive at least some pleasure depsite the nasty WD symptoms of opiate WD. It's pretty cool to be able to have near-spontaneous orgasms from almost no physical contact at all. Plus it's like an immediate wave of relief.

It's also kind of cool to sleep in and snuggle next to a bottle of benzos/antihistamines/Suboxone. Give me some bud and I'm set to go - opiate WD or not! ;)

Never thought I would see a topic like this. But I guess a positive is the 7th grade style random boners all the time haha. But for me i just hate withdrawing from any opiate even suboxone!

im gunna go with FUCK YOU, BUDDY!

yeah you dont have much of a tolerance built up there so you didnt have the full blown withdrawals...no one can say that you didnt hurt as bad as the next person that is withdrawaling only you know that but be glad you arent as deep as alot of people out there...

when a bullet through your brain is the best thing that could ever happen to you then you know you are in real opiate withdrawal i think SLACKBOXED said it the best but good luck and keep enjoying your opiates in moderation

The only possible thing i liked about the withdrawal is the fact that i never wanted to experience it again. 15 days in a row isnt that long, but def will show some signs of withdrawals...try 240 days straight takin lets say smelling 10-15 30mg a day hmmm..if i didnt take somethin within 5 hours later of my last dose id start getting cold sweats..like clock workkkk..then gettin subs im like yes this wont be asbad as going cold turkey...and took it too soon i guess i mean how sick do i gotta be went in to precipitated withdrawals...u ever see a grown man cry?

I can only assume (and considering this site's subject it is a pretty reasonable assumption) that the original poster is on drugs. Put down the crack pipe son. No one in their right, or not so right mind would EVER remotely enjoy withdrawal. I've been through worse things than opiate withdrawal but not many (double pneumonia comes to mind and that was WITH opiates). Depending on the size of your habit it might not be that bad but to call it enjoyable is gobblededook insanity.
