Does anybody do barbiturates any more?

hmmmffff. Intersting thread. I recently got Meprobamate which was fanfuckin tastic! I think I'm going to make this 30 pack last longer than 30 days lol! maybe once every week or so. But man I wish I as alive to enjoy Quaaludes, nembies, seconals, and all that other good stuff. Oh yeah, 1970's rollerporn was pretty dope too I hear...JK!

What is this etaqualone stuff people speak of? Can I find it in my small city? is it OTC, or does a dr. have to scribe it fer ya.
 
In descending order from potency in the U.S. — Seconal Sodium Oral, Nembutal, Amytal (only IV), Butisol, Butalbital (but i'm not into belladonna's), and then Phenobarbital

your still alive to enjoy seconals, but for a hefty price and you need to find an old school pharmacist - btw Mepro is not a barb it's a bromate

It is quite easy to get pheno, if you go into a rehab (not that you would want to) with a benzo tolerance they usually put you one a pheno taper. But it's not worth it the best I can describe them is as a slight annoying grogginess in the back of the head. Your better off with pretty much any benzo except serax, librium and clorazepate

What is this etaqualone stuff people speak of? Can I find it in my small city? is it OTC, or does a dr. have to scribe it fer ya.

Back in 1980 a physician clinic of some sort caught fire and one of my buddies was bidding the new heating, air duct work He looked in the rented dumpster outside & found about 75 bottles of Meprobamate along w/ some other fiorinal type meds'... crazy days. Cant believe we would wash em' down with beers.

Whatever you do, NEVER, EVER get arrested in Sevier County, TN. "Severe" is right! I spent 2 weeks in that jail coming off of benzos and methadone, and they didn't give me so much as an aspirin. I have never been through such Hell in all my life. I thought I was going to die, and I really was wishing that I would.
 
I've had barbital before, as earlier stated its used as a buffer in biology labs. Its one of the longer acting barbs, like pheno, but unlike what I have read of phenobarb (I've never personally tried phenobarbital) it was pretty euphoric, very wobbly, warm sort of high, that would turn your bones to jelly, and too much, would turn your head to mush for a while:P

Ended up getting dependent on it for a time. And then got wrongfully arrested and remanded, not on drug charges, but after I OD'ed and the paramedics fucking snitched me up for possession.

The DTs from barbs, going from my experience with barbital, were absolutely fucking horrific!, lasted months, almost completely delirious. When I finally came out of that state I'd gone without food for so long I looked like a jew that had just been sprung from a nazi concentration camp during the end of the holocaust having lost that much weight.

But with careful, responsible use, its the second-most euphoric sedative/hypnotic I've ever had, the first being chlormethiazole, a vitamin B1 derivative that whilst not a barb, is an agonist at the barbiturate/picrotoxin binding site on GABAa receptors.

I'm somewhat surprised that chlormethiazole is still around and in use. My doc didn't have any problem putting me on it to control my problem with myoclonus. Ugly looking chemical structure (namely containing a terminal alkyl halide), stinks to high heaven, and melts through many plastics (it has to be dispensed in glass bottles for that reason; on one of the few times I got it in a plastic bottle, because the pharmacy I used to get it from before they apparently became unable to obtain it, telling me it had been discontinued altogether...which it hadn't, were being sniffy and up themselves about sparing me the glass bottles week after week. Then after a week or so of storage, the plastic bottle of capsules had become clouded, and actually welded shut, presumably from traces of the volatile chlormethiazole freebase in the caps :P))

I find chlormethiazole to be VERY similar to barbs. Whilst I haven't ever had any of the shorter acting barbiturates, only barbital itself, the very first of them IIRC, chlormethiazole is what I can only imagine to be pretty damn close to the mark in terms of subjective effects.

A litle off topic-I really do wonder why chlormethiazole hasn't been either dropped from use (almost) totally, like the barbs were, it shares so many similarities; being highly abusable, having a very steep dose response curve etc. as well as having a specific interaction with alcohol above and beyond ordinary potentiation. I forget which way around, but one significantly increases the half life of the other. I think, although I don't remember for sure, that EtOH taken with chlormethiazole makes the latter stick around for quite a lot longer.

Glad it hasn't though,as it controls my myoclonus very well indeed

It's a research chemical, and a very hard one to find.
 
In my 14 years of drug culture, buying/selling/trading etc I have never come into contact with any Barbs.

A substance of a bygone era? I think so.
 
You can still get 25mg pills of amobarbital and phenobarbital is quite commonly used in certain Eastern European countries. Also Qualudes, you can still get in South Africa under Mandrax. I guess its about where you look.

p.s. Unless you have absoltuley no tolerence to benzos ethaqualone might work otherwise it is extremely mild and only for an hour. Vaporizing is not good as in doesnt do it and it also is horrible on ur lungs b/c its a large amount of powder (dose is high). To put it simple Soma is better and GHB is even more so.

Not only were they "out of favor" but they were anathema to most of the hippies I knew.
 
I became intrigued by barbiturates after an acquaintance of mine told me many stories about him and his friends in the early 70s getting into all sorts of mischief while on seconals. It was actually a story with a very sad ending. His best friend, who was heavily into them, was shot to death by his own father after he picked up a kitchen knife and threatened him during an argument. The father was never charged for the shooting, as he got off on self-defense. If it had happened today, he would have surely been charged with second-degree murder.
Anyway, the effects this guy described made me really want to try secobarbital. Enough that I voted yes on assisted suicide during the last election, since I knew seconals would be the method of suicide, and I figured a black market may open up. The law didn't pass, though.
 
Doesn't Carisopradol sort of suffice for barbs somewhat? I've only had access to it for a brief period getting some from abroad (vendor sent me 400 rather than 200) and I must admit those were the best of times. Very jealous of it still being used in the US of A. Did wonders for my muscle pains, i'd love to be prescribed meprobamate if they still did. But I think in the UK we stick to diazepam instead.

Am I right in thinking that Etaqualone is only useful when vaped? When I purchased an early gram of it I wantd to try doing it the way they use mandrax in South africa. Mixed with cannabis and methamphetamine. Although I'd only have used cannabis.
 
4-6 mg of xanax iz not an overdose.i dont think people knew more along time ago then now at all.and barbituates r more dangerous so u would have 2 worry more wen taking them.
 
^ya you have to take a lot of benzos to OD. although mixed with other downers it's pretty easy to die. 3 bars ain't shit but might put you in a jail cell (dumb shit while blacked out) if you don't have a tolerance.

and ya barbiturates are way more dangerous.
