How did you acquire your Seconal and Amytal?

Chloral Hydrate is used in biochemical laboratories as reagent, so if you know anyone who studies or works at a university or works for a commercial (bio)chem lab they might be able to procure some for you. That's how I got 12 grams of it. It was pretty nice, if I had to make a comparisson I'd say it was fairly simmilar to GHB, it gave the same warm fuzzy feeling and physical relaxation but without the loss of motor controls like I got with Seco, Amo and Pentobarbital. Ether, also known as diethyl ether is very easy to get a hold of, as it is still fairly often used as a solvent by amateur chemists and loads of other people. A liter of analytical grade Ether is only going to set you back €12-18 and will last you a long time. It can be found at online chemical suppliers though it will add a lot of extra hazmat shipping costs. You can also buy it at a chemical supply house yourself and save a lot on shipping. Barbital is also used in biochemistry for simmilar reasons as Chloral hydrate, but all the other Barbiturates are exclusively used in medicine and will be much harder to source.I know they are not really related but seeing as I am never gonna find any good barbs- anyone know how hard chloral hydrate or ether are to come across? I gather you have to be a real chemist to buy it?
What Western European country is that, if I may ask? Because laws regarding Barbiturate prescribing differ a lot between various European nations, intermediate acting Barbs are still moderately common in Eastern Europe, but except for Phenobarbital the Barbs are virtually outlawed in all of Western Europe and strictly reserved for inpatient settings such as anesthesia or induced comas. And of course, in European 3 countries, Euthanesia.Barbs are rarely used anymore in the medical world, and only a select few of them are still being produced, at small scale. I've experimented with 2 of them; Phenobarbital and Sodium thiopental. Those 2 are the only ones I was able to acquire without allot of effort/trouble. As a doctor that is. So I could imagine that if a Physician only has 2 readily available barbs at his hands, the general drug user will probably have a very hard time finding them.
The situation I describe is in West Europe, but I recall that most modern countries very rarely use barbs in medicine. And the medical world was the main source for drug users, so I guess they will have a hard time getting some in most modern countries too.
Although it's practically impossible to survive the kind of overdoses administered in physician assisted suicide and euthanasia, a small percentage of those cases do remain alive for many hours after ingestion of these massive overdoses and are sometimes given active euthanasia by a doctor to end it (in the case of the Netherlands and Belgium, where active euthanasia is legal) But the vast majority of patient go unconscious within several minutes and die in 15-30 minutes. According to a study I remembered for either Switzerland or the Netherlands, where they investigated the results of either a single 9 or 10 gram oral dose of Secobarbital and either a 9 or 10 gram oral dose of Pentobarbital, Secobarbital overall caused death the fastest compared to Pentobarbital and the difference in dose would also correlate to how fast death would occur. The conclusion was that it didn't matter which of the two Barbiturates was used and in which of the two doses, the only difference it made was how fast death would occur, but it was in any case 100% assured.Related to barbs I just watched a documentary about euthanasia, and in Switzerland they (Dignitas) used 15 grams of pentobarbital to perform the euthanasia on an older women. Googled a bit and found that the (oral) LD50 dose for pentobarbital for rats is 85mg/kg. If that would apply straight for humans 15 grams would only be around 3 times to the average lethal dose. Sounds to me like it would actually be possible to survive for 15g oral dose for pentobarbital? That would be not so cool if you´re actually waiting to die for it.
I also got a little bit of Secobarbital a year ago, just 220mg of pure Secobarbital Sodium crystals. I had only a very minor benzo tolerance at that time but was still pretty disappointed at the lack of effects it gave me, I had expected a lot more and was really bummed out that it was all gone in one go without even feeling that much. Maybe it was because I had much higher expectations of it, like most people have of the short acting Barbs, simply because no one has any personal experience with them to compare it with. The barbiturates I've done are phenobarbital (sucks), butalbital (in Fioricet; it was crap also) and finally secobarbital (this was really nice, but I was expecting a lot more). I guess 1 Seconal isn't enough for a real good barb high, but I still felt wobbly, slightly euphoric and sedated. I wonder how much nicer if I had taken 200 mg (2 capsules). Also it wasn't a red capsule. It was actually orange.
I've actually got two Phenobarbital ampoules from a hospital, I think they are 50mg/ml. It's still used as second or third line drug for severe cases of epilepsy and intravenously for grand mal seizures. That's also the only Barb most people have experience with, because it's still occasionally used for epilepsy, as it's much safer and less sedative that the shorter acting Barbs. It's anti-seizure properties are actually effective in sub-hypnotic doses, unlike the more potent Barbs.the only barbiturate i've ever seen was some phenobarbital that was given to my friend for convulsions he was suffering from benzo withdrawal in rehab. (he saved one as a memento)

It will vary a bit, but in general barbs kill in 2-10grams. Slow acting phenobarbital about 5 grams, I think butalbital the same, and short acting one like pentobarbital or secobarbital 2 grams. One gram could produce toxic, potentially dangerous effects with secobarbital and pentobarbital. Alcohol and other depressants increase the toxicity. Tolerance to the lethal dose will only rise to twice that of a non-tolerant person and for effects tolerance levels off at 1.5 grams. The action of barbiturates is shorter than the half-life. Secobarbital and pentobarbital only have strong effects for about 4 hours but last in the blood for 16-30 hours. So you see with barbiturate addiction you'd walk a razor thin edge between the high and death. 15 grams is overkill to insure a quick and painless death.cook said:Googled a bit and found that the (oral) LD50 dose for pentobarbital for rats is 85mg/kg. A veterinarian would have more luck. Quite common for them to use barbs, pentobarbital in particular, some countries secobarbital. Used to be able to get pentobarbital under the counter in Mexico from vet pharmacies. Then that one guy had to publicly draw attention to them with his book. A woman from Australia, a single mother not physically sick but depressed, took his advise about the Mexican pharmacies and killed herself. Her kids were left orphans. Fucked shit up for everyone.Drs.CritCare said:So I could imagine that if a Physician only has 2 readily available barbs at his hands, the general drug user will probably have a very hard time finding them.
It's still used for a few conditions like leprosy. Supposedly thalidomide may have some abuse potential. It's chemically similar to glutethimide and does have some depressant effects. Who knows maybe it feels good. But the flapper baby thing is kind of a turnoff, among other side effects.sekio said:Getting a barbiturate Rx is essentially like getting Rx thalidomide in this day and age.
I'm into phenobarbital lately.
