Do you think there is always more to learn from psychedelics?

i was hedonistic for a while, except now pleasure feels an empty pursuit - not bringing any deeper sense of purpose, fulfilment.

Does it have to bring a deeper sense of purpose tho? Isn't the euphoria and laughter enough? I'm not quite sure where the idea that you have to get some deeper sense of purpose from psychedelics actually came from. It sounds like Leary or someone trying to make them sound like a religion in order to get the police off his back.

I think that the notion that psychedelic drugs give us insights can be challenged though. I think they make us feel like we are getting insights but that there isn't necessarily any substance there.

I'm not sure what spiritual insight has ever had any substance tho - has a born again christian ever really seen Jesus? There are no "hidden secrets" in life, I think expecting mushrooms to reveal them is a wild goose chase.

But what they definately do is give you a few hours euphoria, laughter, appreciation of life, gratefulness to be alive, helo with depression and greif etc. That's quite a lot of things they give you, all far more valuable than any mystical insight.

no i went on a tangent there, i have just been thinking of pleasure in a more general way lately, i wasn't only referring only to 5HT2A

i do love the magical world mushrooms bring, there is something extremely special about it

I think it is very important to have more time sober than under the influence. I have not tripped in at least a year, but im feeling the urge again. I found your experience quite moving huolesoh . I think that pleasure can be addictive . After giving drugs and sex a break, I feel more in control of myself, and happier overall, despite the lack of a hit.

The main thing that I have learned after all these years is that we are all part of the same organism/energy/spirit and that unconditional love is the only answer to our problems.

I would agree with this. It definately is the answer and the best sollution for everyone else as well in the long run, and threfore should be everyones choice to I think.

But honestly, really honestly?

What you learn in the end, is that you are able to believe in the banana king! So when believing in him i possible, believing in anything is possible, It all then boild down to what is your best alternative, choose that one! The whole consciousness concept is very great and carries hope in the way that we were always here, and always will. This is a devine truth which you may verify by todays understanding of quantum physics, as evidence suggests something are not here and there at the same time making things look spooky, its a wave and consciousness idea and matrix conepts opens up. A few of theese truths put together and you have evidence of larger theories and conepts being true... And again - banana king!

It does feel truly devine toutching into the truth here and again, however I believe the real truth is nothing else than missinterpreted nevrons blasting our synapses with electric signals... Then we die... Then I see my banana king!

Obviously being sober more than high is a prerequisite for achievings in life. Having said that, I plan on keeping tripping as long as I find it enjoyable, and i believe, as long as you allow your mind to wander and be open to anything, you can always learn more about life, evolution and death.

Nothing wrong with the banana king, he gives neutrients and happy thoughts, however compared to God and other kings the strength of the comparison might fade a little in awesomness - if one is looking for the secret of life through psycedelics which doesnt seem to solve much really other than flush your brain with nevrotransmitters which blurs logic and rational though, :D
