Film Do you still go to the cinema?

Wow that's a long time. Why haven't you gone back ?
No real reason. Laziness? Once we had Blockbuster video I would just rent and watch at home. I never like the way my sneakers stuck to the theater floor of a theater or how some people could not be quiet. But mostly because I just stopped.

I did however see Up In Smoke in the 70's. The theater was filled with smoke even back then.

I was completely wrong about that thinking it's a happy story not so much no I don't really go to cinema much these days when I do I only buy frozen microwave pizza or coffee as those are the most reasonable priced concessions these days nachos are stretching it but not as ludicrous as popcorn I cringe when someone doesn't get a large drink w/ free refill price is the steepest on soda

I would like to say yes I go to boutique theaters with updated luxury modern seating for movies worth paying a pretty penny but no just any old big box office close by seldomly

Maybe when I move and the classic theater is the close one I will go more often not sure big town dynamic has me not going so much these days to stretch this rant out for no reason 😂 wtf sry

Last time i went was in 2020, the last Terminator Movie and i think it was the last time i went.

Btw i worked in a Cinema for years as a technichian. It was some years ago when everything wasnt digital so i had to insert these old Film rolls from Hand.

I still like movie theaters, but I just sort of forgot about going. And a lot of movies come out that I don't like. However, I recently saw "A Real Pain", which was excellent. Last movie I saw before that was Dune last spring. I want to see Wicked, if I can remember to go. And I think there is a new Almodovar movie coming out soon.

I haven't been to the movies in years. Between TV and the internet, there are more things to watch than I have time for.

I was going to see the new Joker film, but then I kept reading how bad it supposedly is! I might go see that Bob Dylan one, "A Complete Unknown".

No, movies ain't what they used to be over 20 years since I have. Maybe not even this century. Besides too many free movies on the internet.

i would like to, but it would have to be a movie i really want to see, and on a day and hour when it's not too full.
i have had bad moments in cinemas, but also good ones.

Only to film theater s, after Pathe was forced upon me. Generic cinema s with a Disney land kinda atmosphere. If there is a good film in the local Theater. These also have way better pricing btw. They run on volunteers. Not driven by greed. Seems all about the vibe. And they select a lot of the better stuff.

Red chair s, a pause halfway the movie. And in the cafe you can actually order thing s that surprise me. Eco Lemonades. Good cup of loose leaf Tea or nice Bio brewed Beer. Not some piss like Heineken in a paper cup. Last one was 'Bob Marley: One Love'. Went there with my daughter. Top, can t beat streaming the same on a screen.

Lasting memory instead of a fleeting one. + 90% of the cinema s became Pathe clones. So it s also a bit of keeping it alive. So hopefully new generation s will experience movies like i always have.

Absolute the top in this. Film festival s, Rotterdam got a big one. Toronto comes to mind. But there a lot more. If possible get a allround ticket and have a week of fun. Attain the afterparty s as well as eating in between. And it s like a vacation, one week in a alternative universe. Make s me salivate mentally thinking about the https://iffr.com/nl/awards-competitions/tiger-competition

Last movie i saw was "Send help" i enjoy the movies, the theatre has comfy reclining seats. can you imagine watching intersteller on a 40 inch?...nope
