Do you ever see people dealing on the street?

I had an interesting experience leaving a Jamba Juice in downtown San Francisco, where I work, in broad daylight today.

I was walking outside (on an extremely busy street) and I saw a guy in a trench coat hand a tied-off baggie of (what I assume was) heroin to a guy who looked in his late teens with a hoodie on. The guy in the hoodie quickly handed him a rolled up $20 and they walked quickly away in opposite directions.

I made eye contact with the guy who bought the stuff. His pupils were absolute pinpricks and he had a really guilty look on his face.

This was in front of a friggin' Jamba Juice on a Wednesday afternoon at lunchtime, and no one said a word!

Now, I am very naive about these things because I do not score drugs on the street, ever, period. I am also not a user of drugs that one might score on the street so I don't know how often these things happen, and I'm lucky to have always been able to get what I want without having to resort to the street.

Share your stories about when you've seen people quite obviously scoring here!

dude, you work in downtown san fran, and that's the first time you've seen something like this? Anyways, to answer your question...Hell yes i have. It's like seeing someone cross the street.

lol.
Yeah, I see it downtown... and I live in the booming metropolis of arkansas.

One of the games I like to play is spot the dealer at parties or events. It's part of the fun of knowing what really goes on, was that really a handshake? Why did he put his hand in the other guys pocket when they hugged?

It's everywhere, not long ago I had two guys cross paths in front of me. A quick hand behind the back. One guy keeps walking straight the other disappears into the crowd. Not so much as a nod, nice work boys.

i like doing the "high five" with a bundle of cash in my hand and the dealer has a bag in his. Quickly make the switch with one hand, during the "five". Doesn't look like you even had time to exchange anything.

I see it multiple times everyday, hell I am usually involved in it most of the time I see it. I'll usually look out for most people so they won't get in trouble.

you'll be surprised how much respect it gains you in the drug world when you save a dealers ass from getting caught.

why would you be busted for fucking up the high five? I dont usually do deals right next to a cop, or even remotely close to one.

Anyways, you dont use the high five unless you can do the high five.

drugs in the city outside maba juice no fricken way dude...

Wow, nice. I must lead a very sheltered life. LOL. Mariposa is a n00b!

And yes, I am still growing into city life, but I did go to an inner city high school in South Florida and saw plenty of dealing there. ;)

I can spot dealers at parties but I'd be hopelessly inept if I had to score on the street.

The most important thing to know when chilling in the city is all the sidestreets and such so if you have to run from the cops or someone that's trying to beat you, you can get away like jimminy cricket.

Every time i go into nyc I see this happen. Guys always aproach me saying "coke and smoke". One time we were pretty desperate and got some weed off of one of these street boys. I'll just say it was an interesting experience, one guy kept patting my chest yelling "you a cop?! you a cop?!". That deal went on with the "drop technique" where he drops the bag, and I drop the money and we each pick it up. The weed wasn't that bad though. :D

LOL, you ever come by Chitown to see some of us BL'ers over here I could show you some insane open air drug markets.

Very common in certain bits of the city.

playing spot the dealer is so much fun. i love playing it at clubs and parties.

Good Gawd ...you sure you live in San Francisco? Let's just say that YES, there is a HUGE underground business for illicit substances. Geee...hope that wasn't me you saw 8o But no I'm much chiller about my business, and most of the action happens right off the main street. It's weed dealers mainly who cruise the main strip, other stuff is just a stone's throw away.
I'm a friggin' celebrity 'round the place I go to now =D

And ya, a lot of times people have no shame just doing their thing right out in broad daylight. They'll take minimal precautions 'cause in the TL it's such a well-engrained part of the culture. You gotta still be on the look-out for 5-0's, but it never ceases to amaze me what goes down there.

I love San Francisco.

:D
