Do you ever forget certain states exist?

Somewhat off topic, but related in some ways and conversely to my last post the one state I'll NEVER forget is Arizona. Not because I live there, lived there for any length of time, or was born there (none of which are the case), but because it's the state where I woke up to a cop pointing a 9 mil in my face and proceedeed to spend about three weeks locked up when I not only was innocent, but knew nothing of the crimes. My "friends" had apparently been robbing businesses from VA to AZ while I slept. I was 19 and all in all I was facing 19 yrs. for things I knew nothing about. I was on a few months long perma-high binge and was mostly oblivious to my surroundings. During the same binge I was stopped and asked my name by a cop at a dead show and had to pull out my ID to find out because I didn't remember...for some reason. I vowed to never go back to AZ once I got out...just last year I broke that vow briefly.

AZ cops are dicks. I lived about 30 min outside Phoenix where there were virtually no dangerous crimes ever being committed so cops specifically target anyone who looks like they aren't a good ole mormon boy. Also, the DUI laws in that state are fucking lame. Mandatory jail time, mandatory interlock device, mandator fines, mandatory classes, and you have to pay for all of them. I saw a statstic that the average cost for your first DUI in AZ is $16,000. And it's worse if you get an extreme DUI.
 
Actually most of the cops were decent to me...even the one who pointed the 9 at me after I was in his cuffs. There were some outright asshole state troopers there though.
 
i'd forget about delaware too if i didn't live in it. it sucks here which is why i'm in filthadelphia most of the time.

i always forget about indiana. i just had to google "name of state next to ohio" cause i can't ever fuckin remember it
 
I remember right after i moved to texas from connecticut i was asked where i was from and got the response "....wheres connecticut?" and i was shocked.
after that happened a bunch more times i just started to tell people i was from new york because it was easier.

After living away from ct for a few years i think i'm starting to understand it now.
 
how about you people pick up a book everynow and then and get off the computer. cause this is the dumbest thread title and for people to even answer is just sad and for it to be 4pages deep, pathetic...also pathetic is the fact that it seems like if i gave yall a blank map and told you to label it, yall wouldnt be able to do it and the same goes for just naming all 50states with no map...

maybe if you people tried travelling. its a great way to see places you have never been and maybe never heard of, or heard of but just forgot about
 
I agree chinky. I learned the location of all the states in grammar school and all the countries in high school.

Do you know what you are talking about? The majority of Mormons live in Utah...
 
New Mexico. When I think of the southwest for some reason I picture Texas next to Arizona then California. Until the tv show Breaking Bad I would always forget about NM.

same here, i definetly remeber geography and having to label all those maps

but i dunno history and geography are like my 2 favorite subjects after PE lol, til this day still really..so i always did good in them and to me they came somewhat easy cause i actually would do the homewrok and read the books, unlike everyother class that i didnt care about and did no homework and never opened the book.

i love traveling and learning about other peoples cultures and historic sites and landmarks and how these massive structures can be built by hand with no no modern tools and with no modern technology and have some still be standing 500, 1000, 2000 years later. yet we didnt have electricity harnessed for personal use until the 1890s or the motorized vehicle until the 1800s but not mastered and made feasable by all until the 20th century. but all those projects wer ethought of and built without the use of really anything. no calculators, computers or pencils even, just sticks and stones really, hell some of them were built and still standing without the use of mortar. let ssee someone build a brickhouse no a days without using mortar

what i especially like is the fact that these buildings were definetly built because they still stand. yet we have no idea as to how any of those buildings and monuments were built and transported to their place. like we have ideas and hypothesis on how they were constructed and we have even recreated some of these buildings and monuments t osfcale and even fullsize and even though the technique worked, we really dont know if that was how those people might have did it.

^^ right i could tell you all the states n damn near all thier capitols, i know for a fact i could write in all the countries in africa if given a blank map (had to do it for an african culture class (that i took 2x cuz i failed for not turnin in any papers the first time :\) n i could do that with most countries around the world im kind of a geography nerd

but its something i was always proud of
 
i dont think i could name them right now and get the right..but if i had time to refresh i could do it

but thats not important..we were talking about USA, i could do america easy without having to refresh..all americans should imo
 
Just tried writing out all 50 states. I forgot Wisconsin and Massachusetts.

thats a cool map ^^

so i labeled piecwes of paper and gave it to my mom my grandma, my brother, sister and my moms boyfriend. i labeled them 1-50 and told them they have as much tiome as they needed but to name all the states. no order, just name them, just cheating cause that takes the fun out of it

my grandma got them all (go figure the old lady does), my sister got them all excpet she forgot NJ, , my mom missed new hampshire, my brother only got to like 44states and my moms boytfriend gave up at like 20-25 and honestly i was suprised he got htat many. the guy is the dumbest person i have ever met. the guy lacks common sense and thats just to start. the guy doesnt know anyhting about anything and im serious. you cant talk sports, or news or really anyhting else and be able to hold a convo. he will come up to me and my brothe and be like "oh did you hear the bears fired their coach?" yes ruben, they fired him 2months ago.."oh i didnt know that, i just heard on the radio that they were looking fror a new coach so i assumed they fired lovie." you cant even watch tv and especially a movie with the guy cause for 1, he doesnt pay attention and so you have to explain everything to him even though he was sitting next to you and watching it. thats if he is even watching it cause the guy is always playing games on his phone and he will tell you something and then when you are responding to what he says, he has you repeat yourself cause "he couldbnt hear cause of his ear"(he claims to have a hearing problem) but its always that problem and i think its some form of ADD. cause you literally can be talking to him 1 on 1 and he will act like he knows what your saying but when you ask for his opinion, he has you repeat what you were saying cause he wasnt paying attention even though you and him wer ethe only ones in the room

from what im told about the state game, most people will forget just 1 state and its generally one of the "new" states..thats what i was told by my teacher who showed us about this little game. she said something like everyone knows the states but when you label them 1-50 with no map, they gernally will get all but 1 or 2 sates and generally its the "news" like i just said

i had a much longet post but i decided not to post it cause it was a TL'dr type of post about how dumb my moms boyfriend is. like you guys have no idea how dumb this guy is and how much of a broke chump the guy is and how we all feel like hes just mooching off my mom but she refuses to see it. the fact that he makes like half of what she makes, how he doesnt have his own car since his died and he has to use my car my brother or grandmas car, the fact he owes the IRS who garnish his wages like 30k cause he "forgot" to pay taxes for something like 5+years and literaly unlimited countless of other things i can name, well i didn ame but decided not to post cause yeall can get the piuctire after 1 paragraph, yall dont need multiples lol
